What a College Intern - Semiconductor Wafer Fab Engineering does at HP:

Process Optimization: Collaborate with the wafer fab team to develop & optimize semiconductor manufacturing processes. Data Extraction: Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) machine-generated data into an external data system or database. Data Analysis: Utilize strong analytical skills to analyze manufacturing data and contribute to process improvement initiatives (SPC). Machine Communication: Knowledge of computer communication protocols is a plus; contribute to real time communication between machine and PC. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of experiments, observations, and results.

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:

Currently pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering or Material Science. Students graduating in 2026/2027 will be prioritized. Able to commit for a 5-6 months full time internship, starting in January 2026. Strong analytical and data analysis skills. Familiarity with PC communication protocols is advantageous. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is a plus. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Proactive attitude towards learning and problem-solving.
