Where you fit in The NBD manager will be responsible for supporting the global feedstock manager in building a material regional feedstock portfolio (for Americas, EU/AF or Asia) to support LCF HEFA (Hydro-processing of Esters and Fatty Acids) project FIDs and delivery of the associated investment cases in the near term, and growth of bio-feeds to chemicals within Chemicals and Products business in the longer term. As such the NBD manager will be accountable for i) building a regional-wide and investment specific feedstock sourcing strategy, and delivery plan ii) driving a mid- to long term development plan of novel feedstocks, and iii) ensuring inter and intra-regional optimization of feedstock supply and lowest cost of supply across the overall portfolio. What's the role The NBD manager will be accountable for delivering the respective regional feedstock sourcing strategy composed of high-value investment opportunities across the HEFA investment funnel. You will thus have a critical role in enabling project FID's and investments implementation. This is a team lead role in a growth area with regional dimensions. You will have a pivotal role in ensuring the HEFA business is a world-class investment by: Accelerating Shell's position in this growth area by co-developing a portfolio wide feedstock strategy and delivering this for the respective region Originating a funnel of feedstock opportunities ranging from equity acquisitions, JV's, partnerships, and margin-share to other novel commercial set-ups, incorporating both customer-back thinking and regulatory policy requirements Establishing a credible market interface between Sectors & Decarbonization LCF and upstream feedstock players, ensuring reputable representation of Shell externally Ensuring availability and full integration of suitable feedstocks in time with the start-up of new HEFA plants Optimising ways of working with Trading & Supply to ensure delivery of most optimum feedstock solutions for Shell and our customers and enhance integrated business value through exemplifying enterprise-first thinking Partnering with the wider S&D organisation, as well as other CoBs and overlooking the development of novel feedstocks and ensuring timely maturation of differentiated low CI feedstocks to strengthen Shell's longer term market competitiveness Last but not least developing feedstock/commercial capabilities and building a team of NBD, origination and investment professionals in LCF. This includes a structure that encourages and enables in-team career development opportunities plus a safe & open space for continued learning and inclusiveness for all team members What we need from you To succeed in this role, you will have the following: Seasoned commercial professional, with trading and/or deal-making experience. BOM experience will be a must and EDL qualification will be a plus Proven track record of origination and leading new initiatives from start to finish. Ability to challenge the status quo - hunger for getting deals done and generating value Proven track record of developing and maintaining relationships with 3rd parties as well as building strong internal stakeholder relationships, across multiple CoB's/interfaces Background and/or experience with capital projects is preferred given the nature of HEFA business as a highly asset investment focused business Strong leadership skills with experience in coaching and developing people Proven ability to influence and motivate individuals from a variety of backgrounds to work together in pursuit of team goals Results orientated with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Knowledge of Biofuels, the LCF business and the integrated DS value chains A relevant Masters or PhD degree is preferred.
