Job Description


:
We are currently hiring for a Deputy Construction Manager/ Construction Supervisor to act as a client representative and has prior experience in supporting activities on a manufacturing/industrial facility.

Location: Tuas
Period: 18 months (with the possibility of extension/ renewal)
Hours (Minimum): 40 hours/ week

Your day-to-day role would involve the following activities:

  • Understand detailed site and construction requirements for the various projects. This includes the review and commenting of engineering drawings and vendor drawings, lifting plans, laydown area requirements, etc. related to construction work scope
  • Work with the assigned Project Manager, Engineering project team and other stakeholders accordingly to determine project requirements from a construction standpoint
  • Develop construction specifications and procedures as appropriate, in collaboration with the assigned Project Manager
  • Analyze, manage and mitigate risks associated with construction
  • Understand and adhere to Permit To Work, PTW process including coordination of relevant subcontractors for the preparation, review and approvals of the associated Work Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Work Permits
  • Interface with the various defined Area Owners within the plant for items related to permit approvals and execution of work
  • Review the work progress on a daily basis
  • Work with Project Controls Engineer to establish, monitor, maintain and update construction work schedules
  • Conduct feasibility studies of the site requirements to determine best methods of construction execution and include these for planning and execution purposes
  • Prepare/review scope of work documents, review and evaluate tenders for construction projects
  • Coordinate and supervise various subcontractors and vendor representatives during the course of the construction execution of the projects
  • Work with the identified contractors to ensure tools, materials and equipment are current, safe for use and having appropriate and valid inspection certificates
  • Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
  • Fulfill all legal and EHS requirements as they relate to the assigned project including necessary coordination related to permitting and regulatory approvals
  • Prepare regular status reports reflecting the health status of the projects in construction
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
  • Develop and implement quality control programs
  • Adhere to any applicable EHS, Regulatory and corporate requirements.

We would like to hear from candidates who have:
  • At least 10 years working experience in construction management
  • Knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
  • Experience of working in a life plant pharmaceutical/Biopharma environment
