DOF is expanding the team. We are seeking two experienced and highly motivated Contracts Specialists to join our Project Services team. These positions can be based in either DOF Subsea’s Perth or Singapore office and will provide support across the entire Asia Pacific region. The DOF Group

The company’s core business is project management, engineering, vessel operations, survey, remote intervention and diving operations, primarily for the Oil and Gas, Marine Telecommunications and Renewables markets. Opportunities Reporting to the Project Services Manager, the role will be a focal point for numerous contractual agreements across two DOF company entities. You will be busy balancing time between client contract negotiations and project support, utilising and continually developing the subcontract portfolio to ensure optimal outcomes for the company. Working closely with the Commercial Tendering and Project Execution Teams will position you in a pivotal role, directly contributing towards the commercial success of DOF project execution activities, always focus on minimising the company’s contractual exposure/risk. Your duties will include but not limited to:


  • Provision of contractual and commercial risk management support to the tendering activities of the company, including comprehensive review of client-issued legal and contractual terms to identify and mitigate risk with proposed qualifications and subsequent negotiation.
  • Delivering contractual support to the Project teams, both in terms of head-contract management as well as subcontract, vessel charter and supply agreements, including strategic advice, negotiation, management of variations, dispute settlement and performance monitoring.
  • Identification of strategic contracting opportunities, category management and implementation of improvement initiatives.
  • Contribution to the continual development and life-cycle management of a portfolio of around 150 third-party services subcontracts and commodity supply agreements.
  • Collaboration with the internal insurance team and tax team to ensure sufficient mitigation of commercial/contractual exposure and providing advice to both tendering and project teams.
  • Management of DOF Group inter-company cross-functional and cross-regional service agreements, including specialised equipment maintenance and vessel charters.
  • Input to the maintenance and development of global supply chain standards and processes, including documentation and templates.
Requirements You will have :
  • A tertiary qualification in law, procurement, business management or engineering.
  • At least 7 years’ experience in the full range of procurement and contractual activities within the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of contracting principles, particularly liability/indemnity regimes, insurance, warranty obligations, variations/claims processes and dispute resolution.
  • Experience in the delivery and lead times for diverse scopes across multiple projects.
  • Well-developed communication and negotiating skills and your astute commercial acumen will see you achieve save and sustainable contracts, set-up for growth and support, whilst being completely aligned with the DOF Group Values.
You will be able to demonstrate experience in managing and prioritising a large variety of requests and pressures and familiar with working strictly to package budgets. You will thrive in a team environment, whilst taking full ownership of your responsibilities, with proven ability to prioritise in a time sensitive, dynamic environment. Your previous experience will provide you with the ability to take a lead role in contract reviews and negotiations, therefore it is critical that you enjoy applying your legal, contractual and risk knowledge, and that you are both familiar and confident with presenting your findings and recommendations across all levels, up to and including executive management.
