The Role

The role plays an important part in driving Data Governance for Dyson. The role builds, enhances, maintains and enforces a control structure to ensure data is accurate, available, secure, and usable. In short, data is performing for business purposes. The ideal candidate should also write data governance procedures, oversee the adoption of data governance efforts, and partner with business teams to fulfil Dyson\'s commitments related to Data Management.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing data governance and data quality. You will be responsible for working hand-in-hand with the team to ensure the efficient and accurate delivery of data solutions while ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Data Governance:
Develop and establish Data Governance framework and procedures in three key dimensions, architecture, organization, processes, to ensure data is performing.
Define key metrics for governance to ensure compliance with data-related policies, standards, roles, and responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish data ownership & stewardship, data classification, naming conventions and data access controls.
Define Data Governance operational processes (e.g., data quality measurement, metadata management), clearly articulating roles and responsibilities.
Collaborate with IT and technology operations teams to design, and implement internal process & framework improvements based on data governance standards and best practices to improve the quality of data
Integrate and inter-operate Data Governance frameworks and solutions together with, stakeholders and all associated business processes as per best industry practice.
Work closely with Data business stakeholders to build their engagement and stewardship of data assets
Evaluate and implement Data Governance business solutions to ensure their alignment to the data landscape, roadmap, business and stakeholder requirements.
Manage and coordinate all key issues and escalations around data governance
Review, analyze, benchmark data management processes from partners, internal teams and vendors and lead implementation of Data Governance standards.
Monitor data governance processes and work to continuously improve data quality and reliability.
Engage in Change Management processes for enterprise wide change initiatives and projects to ensure that Data Governance framework and Standards are implemented in change Initiatives.
Drive development, adoption and optimization to improve overall Data Governance policy, processes and standards
Work with other departments to provide requisite analytics to assist in resolving Data Governance related issues and implement solutions
Responsible for reviewing and recommending any data request and sharing requests.
Data Quality Management:
Assist stakeholders to identify and setup critical data elements including the setup of business glossary, lineage, data catalogue and data quality.
Establish data quality standards and metrics, conducting regular data quality assessments and audits.
Lead efforts to identify and resolve data quality issues, working closely with relevant stakeholders to address root causes.
Working with data quality engineers, implement data profiling and cleansing techniques to enhance the accuracy and completeness of data assets.
About you
Degree in Analytics, Information Systems Management, Computer Science or related fields
At least 8 years of relevant experience in Data Governance in managing large-scale data governance initiatives; with expertise in data governance, data quality industry best practices and framework
Leverage deep experience in the implementation of data governance solutions in such areas as: data quality, data lineage, data glossary, data security management, metadata management, and advanced data analysis solutions
Experience working with cross-geographical teams in various time zones is a plus
An excellent communicator who can drive the process to govern data at enterprise scale as the role requires close collaboration with senior-level stakeholders, business data owners, and stewards
Experience in data management, data governance, and data quality roles within an MNC environment.
Strong knowledge of data governance principles, data quality frameworks, and best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high detail orientation
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
