What the role is:
The Singapore Police Force plays a critical role in Singapore's Criminal Justice System with its mission to protect Singapore and to prevent, deter and detect crime. The availability of high-quality data and relevant analytics is important to support law enforcement operations, investigations, strategy and policy formulation in the Singapore Police Force. As a Data Management Executive, you play an integral role in the one of the following areas: (a) governance and management of data; or (b) enabling and managing data analytics. Depending on the assigned role, you will have the opportunity to use a variety of skills (such as data analytics, coding, and database management) to support the acquisition, integration, preparation and/or consumption of data to serve a variety of policing use cases. Multiple contract positions are available. Selected candidates may be considered for other positions after the expiry of contract if they perform well (subject to availability). You will be placed under the Management Executive Scheme/ Home Team Specialist Scheme
What you will be working on:
Examples of the activities of Data Management Executives in the various roles include specifying business requirements for data models, ingestion and integration rules; facilitating the use of analytics and AI; and budget management for data and analytics systems.
What we are looking for:

• Fields of studies in Science, Tech, Engineering or Business disciplines, preferably with focus in data or analytics. o Personality: Strong sense of integrity, self-driven, inquisitive, creative and resourceful. Preference to work in a challenging and ever-changing operating environment. o Emotional Resilience: Able to perform effectively under stressful situations and difficult circumstances. o Effective Communication: Able to communicate both verbally and in writing effectively. Adept in using Microsoft Office XP, particularly 'Excel', 'Word', and 'PowerPoint' functions. o Research skills: Able to conduct sound research to gather relevant information and apply suitable analytical skills to discover insights, draw conclusions and give recommendations. o Analytical skills: Able to logically critique a point of view and think through the issue from different angles, approaches and perspectives to give a valid and sound assessment. o Technical skills: Able to pick up coding, to support retrieval and manipulation of data or analytics. o Knowledge in Current Affairs: Able to appreciate developments in the local and international arenas and how they might have an impact on the Police Force.
