We are looking for passionate individuals who maintain a strong desire to succeed. CloudPay is looking for an \xe2\x80\x9cEngineering DBA\xe2\x80\x9d to work alongside Engineering and other teams. The Database Administrator will play a key role in maintaining and improving the performance of our database engines as well as guiding our Engineering Teams on database strategy and helping them write optimized complex queries. Daily Duties and Main Responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing and optimizing the performance of our production MySQL, MariaDB, Postgres and MondoDB applications on relevant AWS platforms
• Working with Engineering Teams to help design data tables and indexing strategies. Being able to work with Engineerings to simplify and optimise complex queries
• Implementing CDC solutions to a production standard; i.e. performant, highly available
• Investigating and resolving production issues as they arise; taking steps to prevent future occurrences of the problem
• Work as part of an agile product team, participating in all aspects of the agile process and ceremonies

Attributes and Experience Required:

• Experience tuning MySQL/Maria/PostgreSQL database engines for optimal query performance. Mongo DB (ideally Atlas) would be a distinct advantage.
• Experience working with Engineering team to improve table and index design as well as help optimise SQL.
• Experience configuring log shipping from MySQL clusters and using CDC technologies such as Maxwell, Debezium and Kafka to transport data to PostGreSQL reliably.
• Experience of managing large datasets on a production environment.
• Experience planning and executing Database Version upgrades.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on development experience
