Job Description

KEY OBJECTIVES  Perform preventive maintenance of all distributed control system and safety instrumented system minimising critical production and operation downtime of FPSO operations adhering to the safety standards.  Troubleshoot and modify the Programmable Logic controllers (PLC), HMI, SCADA software as and when required.  Operation and maintenance of telecommunication, emergency & radio communication systems and IT Infrastructure on the FPSO  Provide assistance to the Electrical, Instrumentation and control room operator on matters related to DCS PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES  To perform regular maintenance on the DCS, Communications and IT infrastructure of FPSO .  To be responsible for identifying and maintaining minimum stock levels of spares and consumables for DCS/IT  Carryout out duties in accordance with the Integrated Management System (IMS) and Compliance Assurance Management System (CAMS) documents and best Industry practices.  Ensure compliance to HSSEQ policies, MAPP Policy, procedures and guidelines during activities.  Comply with Process Safety Management System.  To provide assistance to the Production CCRO and Marine CCRO staff in the operation of the DCS.  To establish an accurate history in the maintenance database of work undertaken.  Clear reporting of deficiencies and malfunctions to the Maintenance Superintendent. Discuss and analyse technical and spares issues with the E&I Supervisor. Propose solutions related to eventual bottlenecks, deficiencies, non-conformities to E&I Supervisor and directly to the Maintenance Superintendent when required.  Be aware of the financial aspects of the maintenance of DCS system and give guidance to optimise the budget.  To provide instrumentation and control assistance as and when required to the E/I department on all areas of the unit’s systems.  To ensure that DCS Operating Procedures are adhered to.  Ensure software licences are current and ascertain that back-ups/ system recovery tools are available where required.  Perform routine back-up of the system databases associated with the DCS.
