Job Purpose and Impact

Given the increased volatility in the ferrous sector, the Metals BU\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99s Customer Group continues to see an increased need for solutions for iron ore miners and steel mills globally. In addition to volatility, the sector\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99s supply chain continues to navigate the increasing pressure towards trainsitioning towards sustainability, and hence the need for Metals BU to drive change across the business to meet new challenges in the marketplace. An opportunity has arisen in the Customer Group to add a Deal Structuring Advisor in the Singapore office to work with the various product lines operating globally to a) lead medium to long term transaction structuring and management, b) lead business development opportunities and develop/support commercial strategy, c) lead project management. This role will report into the Financial Structuring team.

Key Accountabilities

Develop and monitor profitability, productivity and growth targets. Opportunity Management (OM) and Financial Structuring (FS) \xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x93 Working with the customer group / trading and merchandising teams / relevant functions to lead the management, approval and execution of new B (medium term) and C (partnerships) transactions.

Plan and coordinate business reviews, resource allocations, organization structures and financial analysis. Working with senior Customer Managers, and broader Teams of Teams, manage the relationship with customers over the entire engagement lifecycle. Key segment focus will be iron ore miners and steel mills.

Strategy & Medium to Long Term Scenario Planning \xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x93 working with different teams within the BU, to perform analyses for the generation of MTO and LTO views. Using significant analysis, identify and negotiate strategic partnerships such as financial arrangements, customer sharing and intellectual property rights.

Prioritize and track investments across new product development initiatives.

Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

Minimum of four years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

Understanding of Metals BU strategy, vision and economic model; deep intellectual curiosity, clear/strategic thinker and articulate communicator to challenge and influence Customer Group / Trading / Merchandising / Functional teams to drive higher engagement for the development/execution of the business transactions

Comfortable in engaging and influencing internal Leadership Team members to support and challenge activities alongside 3 critical areas of the BU \xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x93 (1) Scale, Agility & Continuous Improvement: Achieving effectiveness and speed to scale for BAU and new initiatives; (2) Organic: Profit improvement and diversifying earnings; (3) Transformational: Capabilities, deals and partnerships that present new opportunities.

Developing network and interacting with industry participants, engaging with senior level customer stakeholders to suitably identify business development opportunities that may fit commercial strategy; such participants include banks, capital partners, iron ore miners, steel mills, trading houses, brokers.

Working knowledge of Challenger Sales framework - Systematically solves problems and hypothesizes possible customer pain points, expectations, and implicit needs; brainstorms with team members to devise solutions to solve complex deal challenges; Using insight and consultative selling techniques to teach customers about their industry and offer unique perspectives on their business, which link back to BU\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x98s solutions; Identifies the right customer stakeholders and builds connections quickly to drive consensus for deals.

Communication\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x94Tailors communication to the customer\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99s needs with authority; effectively delivers presentations and has strong verbal and written communication skills \xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\xa2 Interpersonal Influence\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x94Uses rational and emotional drivers that would appeal to customers to comfortably drive negotiation conversations in his or her favor

Negotiating, structuring, executing and closing transactions; drafting internal approval requests and reports, negotiating term sheets and other legal documentation; identifying the tax and accounting consequences of various structures.

Conducting in-depth fundamental, financial and operational due diligence analysis on business development opportunities; Building financial models and preparing internal investment presentation materials for senior leadership;

Managing the working relationships between project leadership, commercial and functional (trade execution, process, legal, tax, credit, risk, operations) and other stakeholders / service providers; Other key stakeholders / service providers include other BUs within Cargill such as TCM, CRM, Treasury, OT.

High degree of initiative and ability to lead, coach and motivate others while working in project teams. Ability to deal with ambiguity and provide or seek clarity in structured manner.
