The International Awards department spearheads initiatives to create a pipeline of international PhD talent for A*STAR and the wider Singapore ecosystem through the various international awards. These range from short-term research attachments for pre-graduate students to PhD programmes in conjunction with our university partners.

You are a resourceful and motivated individual who is passionate about developing the next and future generations of Science and Technology talent. You will work closely with key stakeholders internally and externally to achieve the outcomes of the various programmes. The ability to be agile and thrive in a changing work environment is a must!

What to expect:

  • Review, enhance and manage A*STAR's international awards related policy reviews, award approvals as well as oversee budget forecast and management
  • Strengthen international relations by working with key internal stakeholders to identify new overseas institutions/universities to promote international awards and facilitate their engagements and research collaborations with A*STAR
  • Manage existing international partners for A*STAR's international awards including the review of partner agreements
  • Drive promotion efforts to attract quality international students to A*STAR
  • Lead in the analysis of survey feedback and inputs from overseas partner universities, A*STAR senior management and international awardees for the review of policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Lead in the smooth administration of international awards from end to end, from application to shortlisting to award, as well as the monitoring of the progress of international awardees whilst in A*STAR
  • Lead in the effective and meaningful engagement of international awardees with the view to retaining them in Singapore
Job Requirements
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking skills
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills with the ability to translate concept into implementation plans
  • Resourceful and motivated
  • Pro-active, quality conscious, attentive to details and results-oriented
  • Able to work independently and also lead the team to deliver results under tight timelines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with Powerpoint skills
  • Able to travel overseas (about twice a year)
