Financial institutions need to effectively manage their exposures to environmental risks in the transition to a green economy. There is regulatory and market development impetus to build a financial landscape that is aligned with the climate transition, including in the area of climate disclosures.The candidate will join a team responsible for the implementation of globally consistent and comparable climate and sustainability disclosures, and support other developments in the securities regulation space.The main areas of work include:Disclosure standards - for listed companies and retail investment products, and contributing to global, regional and domestic efforts in standard-setting and development of best practices.Disclosure implementation and assurance - including working with solution providers on digital reporting solutions for sustainability disclosures; andOther sustainability issues in the securities regulation space- these include guidelines, industry codes or frameworks, for instance the Code of Conduct for ESG Rating and Data Providers.The role will support MAS\' contributions towards:Shaping global regulatory efforts in disclosures and capital markets regulation, in a way that supports effective global implementation.Demonstrating MAS\' thought leadership and building Singapore\'s image as a progressive regulator in the sustainability sphere.Supporting effective domestic implementation of sustainability reporting and sustainable finance practices, e.g. ESG ratings practices and corporate and FI transition planning that support Asia\'s effective and timely transition to net zero.What we are looking for:Strong technical skills and a good understanding of finance, economics, business and sustainability-related matters (e.g. sustainability issues and value creation in the real economy, industry-specific materiality considerations, sustainability performance standards, reporting standards and metrics, taxonomies).Deep understanding of the integration of sustainability risks and opportunities into financial decision-making across various sectors globally.Knowledge of ESG regulatory developments, supervisory standards and best practices.Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with ESG initiatives, frameworks and disclosures, such as the ISSB standards, Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Climate Bonds Initiative and GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards.Demonstrated capabilities in managing ESG and sustainable finance projects.Established network in ESG, including with both regulators and industry.Excellent strategic thinking, and strong data and analytical skills.Strong interpersonal skills, ability to positively influence internal and external stakeholders and contribute to internal capacity building.Strong project management skills and able to lead organization-wide projects involving multiple stakeholders.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong presentation and facilitation skills.Specialised certification or training in ESG or related fields can be considered.As part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.All applicants will be notified on whether they are shortlisted or not within 4 weeks of the closing date of this job posting.About Monetary Authority of Singapore:MAS is the central bank of Singapore.
