Job Description

The Low-Carbon Energy Research Coordinating Office (LCER CO) is responsible for developing emerging low-carbon alternatives [e.g. hydrogen (H2), carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS)] for Singapore. These technologies are still nascent, and will require substantial R&D and testbedding efforts before they are technically and economically feasible. As part of our work, we identify, fund, and manage R&D projects in this space. Eventually, we aim to deploy these solutions in our industry and power sectors, which today contribute to over 80% of Singapore?s current primary carbon emissions.

We are looking for individuals to join the LCER CO. The successful candidate will lead a team by performing the following key roles:

1. The engagement of a diverse group of stakeholders to build a sound understanding of industry trends, R&D interests, and Singapore?s domestic needs;

2. The development of strategies to fulfil LCER CO?s objectives, focusing on collaborations with international and private sector partners;

3. The implementation of these strategies, coordinating with both internal and external partners; and

4. The planning, and execution of subsequent plans for technology translation and commercialisation.

Requirements:
1. 5-7 years of working experience in a relevant field would be preferred; a background in research or R&D programme/project management would be useful.

2. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

3. Strong competence in R&D commercialisation processes.

4. Possess strong analytical thinking skills and willingness to learn.

5. Have the ability to coalesce stakeholder feedback from a diverse group of stakeholders, and translate them into implementable strategies for R&D projects.

6. Familiarity with technologies within the Urban Solutions and Sustainability space will be highly advantageous.
