A newly created Deputy Operations Manager - Airfreight job has opened up at one of the international freight and goods distributors based in the East. The company stores, distributes and specially deliver high-value items from clients worldwide.

About the Deputy Operations Manager - Airfreight Role:
This position supports the Operations Manager in the daily logistics operations of inbound and outbound activities to and from worldwide destinations. You will manage airfreight bookings and coordination, also ensuring an efficiently running storage and distribution centre, while giving direction and guidance to teams on-site. This includes monitoring adherence to procedures and vendor management. This is an individual contributor with indirect supervision of staff working closely with the Operations Manager and the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance and direction to the rest of operations team (import/export planners and drivers) in collaboration with the Operations Manager
• Liaise with freight-forwarders in booking transport or receive incoming cargo (airfreight)
• Provide support in preparing for monthly rosters to maintain staff availability
• Ensure strict adherence to regulatory compliance, safety protocols, and security standards to safeguard assets and mitigate risks in a bonded warehouse operation
• Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to secure necessary resources and maintain an efficient supply chain

To be successful in this Deputy Operations Manager - Airfreight role, you will need to have prior exposure to managing a logistics/warehouse operation while handling freight-forwarders and robust experience in booking airfreight.

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience handling airfreight logistics and coordination
• Formal degree in business or logistics is preferred
• At least five year\'s experience in a logistics operation with some exposure to mean management and leadership
• Any experience handling a zero-rated supply (0% GST) goods is a plus
• Prior experience using WMS
• Excellent planning and communication skills in English to all stakeholders combined with a positive attitude. Some of the stakeholders will be high-level clients
