Position Title: Director, Business Development, Cloud & Digital Media, APAC

Location: Singapore

Your role

This role is an important contributor and driver in the implementation and execution of the company\'s long-term strategy focused on segment and customer specific business objectives. Works at a high autonomy level and in close collaboration with other key functions including Service Provider Segment Team, Sales & Marketing, Portfolio Management Group, Investment & Acquisitions and APAC Regional Leadership. Consults and engages directly with various customer functions and interface, including Strategic Planning, Network and Application Product Management, as well as DC acquisition teams. Works with industry experts, suppliers, analysts etc. to gain informed understanding of the market developments and industry landscape.

What you\'ll do

  • Leads with insight and deep understanding of the customer\'s business model, strategy and infrastructure topology
  • Specifically in this role, customers include 1) Chinese Hyperscalers 2) Asian Cloud & Digital Media platforms e.g., Naver, NCSoft Grab, SEA Limited, etc.
  • Pro-active business development, in collaboration with sales and solution architects, for strategic customers
  • Build strategic account plan(s) in close cooperation with sales for a subset of strategic accounts
  • Understand and define the market: trends, workflows in the industry, business drivers, target customers, competition; and define the business opportunity for Digital Realty
  • Customer targeting: select and prioritize named accounts which are believed to create the highest magnetic value and contribution to achieving our goals and objectives
  • Develop thought leadership and presentation materials, and high value content including research, white papers, sales and marketing collateral, customer case studies, etc.
  • Work with the marketing team to create and execute campaigns to generate leads for major accounts and country sales teams

What you\'ll need
  • Intimate understanding of the customer\'s business strategy, products, applications
  • Understanding of the APAC DC industry: language, technology deployed, problems, strategies, workflows, value chain, etc
  • Able to persuade and influence, making a strong personal impression on others and projecting credibly, gaining clear agreement and commitment from others
  • Able to promotes ideas, expressing opinions, and share information clearly, responding quickly to the needs of the customer
  • Able to works productively autonomously in high pressure environment, keeping emotions under control during difficult situations whilst maintaining a positive outlook at work
  • 10+ years of work experience and track record of delivering results in business development, customer relationship management or strategic selling role in Cloud / IT and / or Telecommunications industry
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken, strong preference for spoken as well as written Mandarin
