Job Description

Role Purpose: As our Director, Business Development, Engineering and Manufacturing/ Energy and Chemicals (EMEC), APAC, you are in charge of DHL Supply Chain's (DSC) business growth agenda within the EMEC sector across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Role Purpose: As our Director, Business Development, Engineering and Manufacturing/ Energy and Chemicals (EMEC), APAC , you are in charge of DHL Supply Chain's (DSC) business growth agenda within the EMEC sector across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. This includes both in pursuit of new account opportunities and in driving additional business opportunities from the existing customer portfolio. You'll work with APAC Countries in pipeline creation, Response for Quotations, capability/ solution development, develop subsector strategy initiatives, and coordinate regional Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) for large multi-country customers to deliver both short and long-term growth aspirations. Having a good knowledge of EMEC sector is a must, however 3PL/ logistics experience will be a good-to-have but not mandatory.Example of EMEC sectors include but not limited to construction, manufacturing, aerospace, oil and gas, mining, utilities and energy, chemicals etc.: Lead, develop and leverage constructive relationships with target accounts to gain access to key decision makers and establish coaching networks with internal and external stakeholders to close important leads and achieve profitability in the EMEC sector Develop, manage, maintain and review sales pipeline pro-actively & identify targets/ prospects, renewals and other relevant opportunities focusing on regional/ global level and assess the profitability of sales leads using critical judgement Support and coach local sales/ account teams in the pursuit of local opportunities and provide Subject Matter Expert knowledge as needed and drive community engagement Develop sub sector strategies for key focus areas, aligning sector strategies with other global regions and leverage work done globally for APAC Work collaboratively with regional & global cross business units' sales team & DSC's global Key Account Managers (KAMs) active in the sector Lead key activities such as Business Review Meetings, presentations, escalation management and follow ups from customer feedback to exceed customer expectations Appropriately engage and influence internal and external stakeholders where required to share the DSC vision and strategy to achieve desired objectives and outcomes Requirements: At least 8 - 10 years' experience in a sales / business development with at least 5-6 years involving strategic management and planning within the EMEC sector in APAC 3PL/ logistics experience although advantageous, but will not be mandatory Deep industry knowledge to influence internal stakeholders and external customers' and to lead the Business Development and sales process. Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with ability to work well under pressure & independently.
