This role is as a Director within the Group CPBB Finance
To support the Group and Countries in providing guidance on the accounting guidelines and alerts issued by the Group Accounting team in relation to Retail Banking (including Wealth Management), Business Banking and Private Banking products. This includes providing oversight to help ensure alignment and consistency of implementation across countries
To support ongoing initiatives including the review of accounting related processes for compliance to the accounting guidelines and process efficiency and simplification and controls review
To drive and support strategic, accounting and control initiatives across CPBB Finance, including countries and the business
Strategy
Understanding the developments on accounting requirements and impact on the financials and ensuring these are incorporated in existing BAU processes and on going projects so that these future- ready
Working with the Group Accounting team as well as Business and other Finance team in the implementation of new and emerging IFRS standards across the countries
Business
Provide accounting advisory support to client businesses, country business finance and central finance teams, in the countries, working with the Group Accounting team.
Working with the country business finance teams to ensure alignment and consistency in the application of the accounting guidelines and alerts issued by Group Accounting team
Drive and support the roll out of key strategic finance projects as it relates to CPBB Finance and the countries
Work with the central finance teams to manage and monitor their owned financial processes, set standards and review quality control
Processes
Provide support in the review of the accounting related process to ensure compliance to accounting guidelines
Propose process efficiency improvements and simplification as well as strengthening controls
Perform thematic reviews for significant issues

Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of country teams

Our Ideal Candidate
10+ years of work experience in the Banking industry, preferably in the area of Finance and Accounting.
Strong IFRS accounting knowledge preferably in Retail Banking (including Wealth Management), Private Banking and Business Banking products
Good working knowledge of process flows for retail and wealth management products is preferred
Good project management skillset
Is pro-active and able to think laterally and strategically and have strong analytical skills
Proactively question and improve status quo, think outside the box to improve processes and controls and at the same time simplify
Strong networking and interpersonal skills, forming positive working relationship in the multicultural environment.
Good working knowledge of process flows for retail and wealth management products is preferred.
