Summary Data is the oil of the new economy and Visa has the world’s biggest reserve. Over 200 billion payment transactions with more than USD12 trillion of sales volume occurred on our rails in the 12 months ending Sep 2021. The AP Data Products team is responsible for leading the strategy, prioritization, development, and delivery of Visa’s product roadmap for solutions that leverages this rich data to clients in Asia Pacific markets. The team collaborates with regional and global functions to deliver against data product roadmap comprising solutions that span Business measurement and insights, Underwriting solutions as well as Data APIs. Our primary mission underpinning these activities is to be able to use Visa data to make our clients more competitive in their core business What a Director, Data Products does at Visa: This role reports to the Head of Data Products for Asia Pacific and will be a crucial member of the broader Data Solutions organization. She / He will be responsible for the following:

  • Oversee end-to-end commercialization of both existing flagship solutions such as Visa Analytics Platform and Visa Destination Insights as well as other emerging data products, including ownership of revenue targets
  • Lead development of GTM strategy and sales execution plan for data products including:
    • Client segmentation / targeting criteria and considerations
    • Commercial constructs, terms, agreements, and pricing structures
    • Pilot framework and strategy, launch communications plan and execution framework
    • Launch and execution plan for general availability in AP markets
  • Develop templated, repeatable approaches to executing revenue-generating initiatives, as well as sales enablement assets and client-facing proposals
  • Guide junior members of the team and leverage their contributions to drive superior product management outcomes including client usage tracking, pipeline management and client success initiatives
  • Partner with cross functional teams including Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA), Government Solutions, Merchant Sales, Risk etc. to ideate and establish new client delivery approaches for data products
  • Support and lead client presentations for emerging data solutions being the subject matter expert in region

Projects you will be a part of:
  • Ownership of data product revenue targets – track revenues closely and work with markets and cross-functional colleagues to meet or exceed assigned financial targets
  • Primary point of contact for AP with Global Product teams, ensure flow of information both ways i.e., AP regional requirements well represented on Global product roadmaps, as well as key AP stakeholders well informed on global product developments
  • Collaborate with functional teams in Hub and markets to drive ideation of solution bundles with Data Products and “adjacent” functional solutions e.g., Risk and Loyalty products
  • Lead global or regional pricing initiatives driving specific strategic business or revenue outcomes
  • Regularly collaborate with product leads in other VAS solution verticals, client facing teams, marketing and client support to execute business use cases identified as priority
  • Work with Product Marketing teams to ensure high quality sales enablement assets
  • Uplift knowledge of new data solutions for market colleagues with training and guidance, and drive a progressive transition in sales execution and aspects of product management from Hub to markets
  • Act as mentor to more junior in-market as well as regional colleagues
  • Be a key contributor in formulating the annual data product strategy and associated revenue targets that drive the adoption of emerging data solutions in conjunction with guidance from account teams, regional and global product owners, and other stakeholders.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

What you will need:
  • 10-12 years of experience and at least 6-8 years of experience in the Payments industry with direct exposure to product commercialization and Go-to-Market strategies
  • Deep understanding of client and market needs to drive opportunity identification and development of long-term product strategies
  • Past functional experience or engagement with Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Success/Professional Services, or Consulting. Experience in a client-facing and/or in-market role a huge plus.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of revenue drivers, financials, solutions packaging, and pricing, as well as marketing engagement
  • Highly structured and logical thinker, with the ability to objectively analyse information and draw rational conclusions
  • A good balance between strategic thinking and flawless execution with attention to detail will be necessary to succeed in this role
  • High energy, motivated team player, able to effectively work across functions and teams to drive key initiatives to completion
  • Must be results-oriented, able to handle multiple tasks of urgent nature and effectively deal with ambiguity
  • Strong collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible working style – with a demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation necessary across all executive levels and Client teams (any level)
  • Advanced skills in productivity applications including Excel and PowerPoint

What will also help:
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Maths, Computer Science, Business Management or related areas
  • Some experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations
  • Experience with development or delivery of products and solutions with a focus on data driven systems
  • Some knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.)
