The Role Reporting to the VP of Global Operations, this is a key leadership position within Automotive business unit of TE Connectivity. The Director of Global Logistics for Global Auto will develop and implement the global logistics strategy for a high growth, highly matrixed and complex Logistics and Transportation network that supports a Global Auto BU. This leader will provide strategic leadership and direction for the largest business unit in TE ($6 billion annual revenue). The Auto BU Logistics leader will work closely with the Corporate Global Logistics organization to deploy best practices and optimize the overall logistics network, including Distribution Centers. The Vice President of Global Logistics for Global Auto leads the Logistics function for BU Automotive so that the logistics leaders within the Auto regions can perform at optimal levels. The Role will lead a combination of direct and indirect reports across the globe. Key Responsibilities Ensures customer satisfaction (both internal and external) through a comprehensive understanding of customer requirements and a focus on high leverage opportunities. Ensures employees understand their customer needs and ensures excellent relationships with external and internal customers. Develop short and long-range logistics strategies to support significant growth of the Automotive business unit in a cost-effective manner while improving service and reliability Develops and Deploys transportation and distribution network design strategies to align with the Business Unit strategies Partner with Global Logistics to optimize a sourcing process that leverages scale, maximizes supplier relationships, minimizes risks and drives business value. Defines and establishes the contractual service level requirements for transportation carriers and distribution partners. Directs efforts that lead to gross margin improvement, supply chain efficiencies, improved quality and service and enhanced innovation through supplier relationship and risk management Evaluates and deploy best-in-class logistics and supply chain technology suitable to the scope and size of the business, as well as future growth. Develops and deploys best practice processes via TE Operational Advantage toolset Benchmark's world leading companies Partners with the Global logistics Organization within TE Measures global compliance (partners with internal audit to drive self-testing) Drives fast cascade of best practices Develops and deploys functional specific training across the Auto logistics community Meets reporting needs of the business unit and various corporate functional partners Partners with Global Trade to ensure compliance with regional laws and regulations Collaborates with key stakeholders upstream and downstream to ensure engagement, buy-in and ownership of key logistics strategies, system and process enhancements Collaborates and works cross-functionally in developing and executing logistic strategies and processes / system enhancements Builds a high performance, highly motivated, logistics team. Drives a culture of continuous improvement and organization excellence What your background should look like: Requirements: Ten or more years of Logistics Operations experience inclusive of experience working in multiple geographic regions. Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or business administration MBA preferred Demonstrated experience developing and implementing Logistics strategies that have yielded measurable business results Experience leading an organization in a complex, matrixed environment Knowledge of transportation and distribution center operating processes. Continually developing category expertise, maintaining market intelligence, and staying abreast of the changing supply base and new technologies Strong business system skills including experience in the implementation and operation of ERP systems and experience in the implementation and operation of web-enabled Transportation Management systems Experience in managing Third Party Logistics providers Demonstrated project management skills that have driven significant results
