Specific Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Advanced degree (i.e. MD, PharmD, PhD) required with varying levels of clinical and/or industry experience.
  • Relevant experience must include at least 5 yrs clinical practice experience.
  • Clinical practice experience in HIV, viral hepatitis and invasive fungal infection is desirable.
  • Industry experience in HIV, viral hepatitis +/- invasive fungal infections is required.
  • Experience in developing learning curricula, training and teaching
  • Experience in preparing and delivering presentations is required.
  • Public health experience in infectious disease and liver disease with achievements in clinical research, public health and education
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a collaborative, cross-functional environment with internal and external colleagues, including representatives of academia, research, medical, public health, and affected communities.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, organizational and communication skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and projects
  • Demonstrated ability to align medical, public health and commercial strategies
  • Programmatic experience in LMICs. Travel to LMICs is a job requirement.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
  • Works collaboratively with Gilead personnel in GPS South East Asia (SEA)/Mongolia region and supports the successful delivery of the Medical Plan of Action
  • Works collaboratively with Gilead\xe2\x80\x99s business partners\xe2\x80\x99 personnel in GPS countries in SEA/Mongolia (Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Mongolia) +/- South Asia (India) in Sales, Marketing, Global Safety and Medical Communication.
  • Designs, develops, executes projects and programs to address educational needs of medical community most relevant to the priority GPS portfolio of products
  • Develops disease and product learning curriculum and provides business partners\xe2\x80\x99 marketing, medical and sales force with training.
  • Travels to appointments, meetings and conferences on a frequent and regular basis, occasionally with short notice.
  • Utilizes scientific resources to deliver impactful presentations in a variety of different settings.
  • Collaborate with Medical Information to respond to clinical inquiries regarding marketed or developmental Gilead products.
  • Develops and presents complex scientific and clinical data for Gilead products.
  • Identifies and develops regional and national opinion leaders to support Gilead products and trains Gilead approved speakers through personal contacts and on-site visits.
  • Establishes strong relationships with opinion leaders, clinical investigators and providers at academic and non-academic settings.
  • Anticipates complex obstacles and difficulties that may arise in the field and resolves them in a collaborative manner.
  • Must be fully cognizant of all relevant complex scientific data. Must also be cognizant of complex regulatory requirements for field-based personnel.
  • Designs, develops, and helps to execute patient centered projects and programs most relevant to the priority Gilead therapeutic areas in LMICs of the SEA/Mongolia region
  • Contributes to development of a comprehensive research agenda in support of integrated strategic plan, goals and objectives in LMICs of the SEA/Mongolia region
  • Provides public health expertise to evaluate health program feasibility and burden of illness estimates; the role will include a focus on healthcare access and delivery, level of public health engagement by local and regional governments, and strength of healthcare infrastructure and help to inform Health Economic and Outcomes Research supported by Medical Affairs-GPS
  • Identify and where needed assist in development of tools or methods for measurement of healthcare access and delivery, level of public health engagement by local and regional governments, and strength of healthcare infrastructure
  • Demonstrate benefits and improvement in health care delivery most relevant to treatment and prevention services, reductions in health inequities and population-based outcomes that accrue GPS Medical engagements
