This role oversees and leads all marketing & communication efforts in the Singapore cluster. The Director of Marketing & Communications is responsible to create and promote on-brand messaging to customers through various channels with the goal of enhancing the image of our various brands, drive consumer awareness, increase market share, and build brand awareness. He or she will report directly to the Country Director, Sales & Marketing. The job responsibilities include the following:
Develops an annual communications plan with specific goals and budgets for cluster’s brands and properties, prepare working plans to achieve them and also make periodic progress updates to Exco
Supervises and directs photography for advertising, collateral and public relations purposes in liaison with Brand & Marketing – Corporate
Ensures the cluster has a comprehensive image library for all advertising, collateral and public relations activities, and regularly sends these to Brand & Marketing – Corporate for retention and use
Monitors Marketing activities of competitor serviced residences & hotels as well as trends within the industry
Compiles and maintain a comprehensive list of media contacts. Delegates assigned accounts to staff as appropriate but takes full responsibility for the key media by maintaining and developing close relationships
Prepares press releases for appropriate targeted media, locally, regionally and internationally
Works closely with Brand & Marketing – Corporate and Group Communications on developing story angles
Conduct media buys and forge strong relationships with media houses
Plays a key role in community and government relations as well as VIP handling
Secures opportunities, directs and attends cluster sponsored events, and develops targeted partner relationships
Creates and organizes press promotional activities
Participates in the press events/trips and conducts press blitzes when appropriate
Ensures press kit information is comprehensive and up-to-date
Works with advertising agency/s on tactical advertising campaigns' creatives and media plans
Maximizes advertising budget by ensuring that the portfolio's creative message and media activities are consistent with the advertising of other clusters and group-wide advertising. Ensures that the advertising creatives are in synergy with the brand guidelines, projecting a consistent and quality message
Periodically review the portfolio’s market segmentation to ensure that the media scheduling suits those segments
Monitors and maintains media schedules
Plans, implements and tracks electronic marketing activities and ensure DM activities project a consistent and quality image to recipients as well as monitor performance
Coordinates and executes production of all printed materials following the specifications stipulated by Brand & Marketing – Corporate
Ensures properties’ information is regularly updated on the brand website and other public channels
Supervises the production and quality of all displays and temporary signage in properties’ public areas
Develop festive and corporate premiums as appropriate. Ensures correct usage of brand logo/s on gift items as stipulated by Brand & Marketing – Corporate
Formulate and execute plans and strategies alongside Revenue Management team for online campaigns for brand website and other online sales platforms to drive conversions
Plan and execute corporate events
Manage customer loyalty programmes
Handle the budgeting and forecasting of expenses for the portfolio
Function as a Brand Guardian at cluster level
Any other ad-hoc duties assigned
Job Requirements
The candidate should possess the following:
Degree or Diploma in Marketing or other related fields, with 10 years of relevant and managerial experience
Confident and meticulous
Good spoken and written English
Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills
Ability to work independently and in teams
Well versed in use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Knowledge in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrators will be an added advantage
