  • School Leaders have joint responsibility for all aspects of the School relating to the education and development of the students; each has a focus of responsibility, but all contribute to the whole, and support the work of others.
  • To create and foster an environment of reflective practice and development, leading by example in all aspects of personal and professional development.
  • To develop and maintain a culture of high expectations for self and others.
  • To keep abreast of developments and best practice, relevant to the specific responsibilities of their role, and advise the Senior Team of their relevance and potential impact on the school.
  • To provide reports to the Vice Principal and Principal as required.
  • To lead by example as a teacher and as a leader and manager, promoting high standards of pupil achievement and motivation through excellent teaching.
  • To lead teams and individuals in line with specific areas of responsibility.
  • To support the development and implementation of school policies and practices to ensure consistent application.
  • To build and sustain effective, positive relationships with staff, pupils, parents, Governors and the local community.
  • To contribute towards the school\xe2\x80\x99s marketing and admissions activity as and when required.
  • To attend relevant school events and activities.
  • To manage budget(s) in line with areas of responsibility.
Main areas of responsibility:
  • To coordinate and deliver a high quality extra curricular performing arts programme in the School. This includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:To create and maintain the school\xe2\x80\x99s Performing Arts Handbook.
    To produce the performing arts calendar for the year and to ensure that events and activities are included on the school calendar as appropriate.
    To agree and oversee all formal school performances and productions with the relevant staff from Music and Drama.
    To work closely with relevant support staff in the daily running and administration of our performing arts provision, resources and facilities.
    To ensure that the wider staff body contributes to and supports our performing arts provision, whether through the offering of CCAs, clubs etc, or through volunteering to assist in school performances and productions.
  • To oversee the arrangements for all performing arts activities including, but not limited to, finances, travel arrangements, safeguarding, risk assessments, communication with parents.
  • To source and support suitable PD opportunities for staff
  • To monitor the overall quality of the performing arts provision within the school and to oversee and lead its ongoing development
  • To liaise with the staff responsible for CCAs, sport and academic enrichment to ensure that all staff make a meaningful contribution to the School\xe2\x80\x99s enrichment programme.
  • Through liaison with the relevant curriculum leaders, ensure that the school\xe2\x80\x99s curriculum and extracurricular activities are closely linked and that all members of the Arts faculty contribute to the school\'s extra curricular programme.
  • To teach a designated subject specialism and in other areas as agreed from time to time, with a teaching load commensurate to the responsibilities of the role.
  • To ensure that performing arts facilities are monitored and maintained to a high standard.
  • To engage our parent body with the performing arts programme.
  • To oversee the development of externally assessed performing arts programmes such as LAMDA and ABRSM in the school.
Pastoral Care:
  • Support the strong pastoral emphasis within NLCS (Singapore) as a form tutor including teaching PSHE. Manage a lively, enthusiastic, orderly and safe learning environment fulfilling the responsibilities of that position.
  • Liaise with and support the Heads of House and VP (Pastoral) in all matters pertaining to pastoral well-being, responsibility and strategy
  • Working alongside the Heads of House to contribute to pastoral and co-curricular activities that broaden students\xe2\x80\x99 experiences and enhance the general life of the school
  • Liaise with relevant colleagues and parents with regards to the monitoring, support, review and well-being of tutees
  • Follow the school\xe2\x80\x99s policies and procedures with regard to pastoral provision
Safeguarding:
  • Abide by the school safeguarding policy and keep abreast of any changes
