Ecosystem & Marketing Business is the business counterpart of Japan headquarter Marketing Cloud Platform Department (MCPD), whose mission is to lead Rakuten’s marketing related products strategy, execute product development and implementation. We empower Rakuten internal marketing teams by building engaging, respectful, and cost-efficient marketing platforms that put our customer at the center. Our main advantage comes from our ability to leverage the Rakuten Ecosystem. We provide marketing solutions such as marketing campaign management, multichannel communication, and personalization. With the expansion of our business, we are opening Director of Product position to accelerate our product growth, especially for multichannel enablement such as social media, email, SMS communication. Responsibilities :

  • Define product direction and strategy and build the product roadmap to fuel exponential growth and engagement
  • Identify market trends and customer needs to inform new features and services
  • Develop a rigorous product planning process to ensure speed and quality of product development and evolution
  • Drive the product lifecycle, analysis, and continuous improvements
  • Own, define, plan, measure and improve key product metrics
  • Partner effectively across the company to execute the product plan and deliver the biggest impact. Stakeholders include executives, sales, engineers, designers and more
  • Manage cross functional and cross regional team including people management - such as selecting, recruiting, hiring, develop of members
Qualifications : Required
  • Demonstrable 13+ years’ experience managing product(s) in digital/ internet business domain at multiple stages – conceptualization, launch, growth, mature, etc. Proven ability to define a product vision and strategy, communicate that across the company, and deliver a solution that is highly impactful and scalable, or entrepreneurial success
  • Sophisticated understanding of marketing tech (mar-tech), digital channel communication, multichannel marketing, social media marketing and its underlying technologies with 5+ year experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization, including senior executives. Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and an ability to interface with senior management
  • Quantitative and analytical skills, self-reliant and results oriented
  • Strong passion for business growth, being customer and data driven, and “Get Things Done” mind set
Preferred
  • Literacy in finance/ accounting and experience in related financial systems
  • Business level fluency in Japanese as you will need to liaise with Japanese stakeholders
