Description

Our client is a globally renowned QSR, and as part of their HQ relocation to Singapore, they are planning to set up their product innovation lab in the country.

Responsibilities

This position will spearhead consumer-driven product development to create a brand-relevant product pipeline of innovation. By leading the product development team and overseeing the research and development team, this individual will lead and influence innovation to develop and launch short and long-term product initiatives. This will require collaborating with marketing team members, company-owned operators and franchised operators in order understand marketing trends and roll-out best-selling new products. Furthermore, this individual must provide strong leadership of cross-functional teams required to ensure the successful launch of new products.

The Director of Product Innovation will sit in the Singapore headquarters, reporting directly to the CMO. This position will have direct supervision over 3 professionals responsible for product development of coffee, tea and International food/other beverages. In addition, this individual will have indirect supervision over 1 professional responsible for product development of US food/other beverages.

Requirements

You will ideally have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Food Science, Engineering, Biology or related Food science or engineering field; a master's degree is preferred. 15+ years of experience in the food industry field, with relevant experience with developing coffee, tea, beverages and food products will be required. Aside from proven team management experience across regional/global coverage, you should have good experience in project management, and demonstrate good working relationships with cross functional departments such as Operations, Marketing, Purchasing, Specialty Sales, Legal and Finance. The role requires someone who have demonstrated ability to develop a product innovation strategy and drive the product development pipeline, as well as the initiative to identify areas for improvement and take the lead to implement changes.
