Our portfolio ranges across several distinct business units: Skin Heath, Essential Health and Self Care (OTC) products with iconic powerhouse brands such as: JOHNSON'S ® Baby, NEUTROGENA®, AVEENO® LISTERINE®, BAND-AID®, TYLENOL® and many more. We are recruiting for a Director of R&D Technical Operations in Asia Pacific. In this role you will be responsible for leading a R&D team located across Asia Pacific delivering product innovations and life-cycle management projects for our key Skin Health & Essential Health brands such as Neutrogena®, Aveeno®, Listerine® Dabao® & Johnson's Baby®. The R&D leader will work closely with Franchise R&D & Supply Chain Leaders to shape the strategies and put in place action plans to accelerate growth and securing our innovation ambitions for the business. Talent Development, recruiting and retention will be key accountabilities for this leadership role.
Principle Responsibilities:

  • Leading critical and complex high impact Innovation, Compliance & Life Cycle Management programs
  • Scaling the use of agile methods (drive consumer centricity, end-to-end thinking etc) to derive maximum value from a project
  • Building and scale critical R&D capabilities for the organization (risk assessments, technical writing, data driven decision making etc)
  • Leading cross-franchise R&D portfolio management for Asia-Pacific
  • Lead cross-functional R&D team to ensure high standards, efficacy requirements, and safety testing are aligned and completed, and ensures future proofing of the product portfolio in light of changing external environment and regulations.
  • Responsible for connecting with the global R&D community to deploy Lead/Adapt market model for Skin Health.
  • Develop an impactful team of R&D professionals to serve long-term DE&I talent pipeline & capability needs of Consumer Health R&D across End-to-End Innovation Product Life Cycle.

Qualifications
  • Being able to connect cross-functionally building strong interdependent partnership internally and externally required.
  • Consistent track record of building successful teams and a passion for talent development.
  • Ability to attract, develop and retain diverse talent is required.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and constructively challenge the project team and business partners. Set strategic direction for innovation pipeline and to achieve project goals. They should be very organized, driven, able to challenge and grow cross-functional teams at all levels, and must be willing and capable of being a change agent.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's or Master's degree with approximately 9 years of proven experience is required, Biology/Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Pharmacology degrees preferred but not required.
  • Up to 20% international travel may be needed.
