Job Description


What the role is:Woodlands Division was created to serve the expanding needs for policing services in the north of Singapore, due to the expanding resident population, retail spaces and transport nodes. Woodlands Division is strategically located to improve police response in the north and contributes directly to SPF's vision of making Singapore the safest place in the world. The Logistics and Finance Branch provide prompt, effective and efficient administrative and logistical support to Woodlands Division during routine ground operations, exercises, events/incidents and emergencies. A Division Logistics Officer (Operations) plays an important role in the Ops-Logs daily support and in times of contingencies. He must work with the logistics (Management) Team to ensure logistics support for operations is not compromised. The JH is also required to assist in time-critical support for operations. He also deals with fleet issues. He works closely with vendors/contractors and handles operation logistical matters.What you will be working on:

  • Coordinate the deployment of operation equipment and logistics supplies Work with vendors/contractors on logistics services to be provided in agreed contracts Liaise with division stakeholders to ensure that operations are carried out with the required logistics support Liaise with PLD for any loan requirement Ensure operational equipment as required by Ops are fully deployed timely before the start of event and collected back timely and stored at the end of event Liaise with HTX officers and vendors on the maintenance regime of division fleet including damaged vehicles Oversee outsourced vendors for car-washing services Manage proper usage, issuance and records of vehicle usage at Division/NPC Conduct regular checks of Police vehicles, vehicle logbooks and station garage books to ensure proper usage and record keeping Conduct regular stock taking to ensure proper issuance, return and maintenance of operation equipment Conducts internal audits for Logistics & Finance Branch in area of fleet compliance
What we are looking for:a) Knowledge and Skills - Knowledge of procedures and standards laid out in the SOPS/DSOs/PGOs of Operations and Logistics Management required for the job - Knowledge of major operations plans and the required logistics support - Qualifications related to supply chain management, maintenance of vehicles, weapons and general equipment would be advantageous b) Experience - Have at least 3 years in service - Experience in planning or project management role is an advantage c) Attributes - Good organisational and administrative skills - Attentive to details, meticulous in planning and execution - Able to work within tight deadlines with officers from different functional areas (e.g. logistics and operations domains) and coordinate their activities d) Other Unique Job Requirements - Must be able to respond to any contingency when activated, even if it is beyond usual working hours.
