Role Overview The editor of Campaign's role is critical to the ongoing production, development and editorial strategy of Campaign Asia-Pacific, its content and associated publications, platforms and live events throughout the region. Reporting to the editorial director, the editor's responsibilities include managing the day-to-day activities and ongoing performance of Campaign's editorial team. This includes the responsibility to ensure high quality content standards and KPIs are met, while fostering team morale and cohesiveness in meeting the brand's objectives. As a senior member of the editorial team, the editor will play a key role in engaging the industry, representing Campaign Asia at branded events and working cooperatively with Haymarket's events, commercial and product teams. Key responsibility areas: This role takes on the responsibility of team management and producing quality editorial content for Campaign Asia-Pacific, Campaign Japan and Campaign China across all media platforms (website, social media, video, audio) and events. As such the editor will be expected to . To ensure high quality content standards and KPIs are met, while fostering team morale and cohesiveness of the Campaign editorial team. . Work with the editorial director to deliver day to day/ on-the-job training to editorial staff, as well as more formal training to develop their reporting techniques and writing skills. Deliver feedback and conduct performance reviews with team members. . Run daily editorial meetings to help generate new content ideas and to plan and prioritise how daily news will be published daily across Campaign's digital properties . Generate at least 3-4 pieces of news, analysis or opinion content each week . Support deputy editor on assigning and delivering longer-term editorial projects . Organise and manage all daily news output processes, including copy origination, story development, subbing, headlining, ensuring it is produced to the highest editorial standards and compliant with legal standards. . Act as a guardian of editorial standards, design values, copy quality, tone and style, working with reporters/editors to develop interview techniques and copy writing skills. . Maintain an updated editorial planning calendar with contributions from all staff members keeping track of upcoming industry events, interviews, story ideas and deadlines. . Act as a change agent by encouraging media innovation in Campaign's editorial projects . Edit, produce and publish Campaign Asia's daily news letter and oversee the delegation and publishing of its associated newsletters. . Manage, delegate and contribute to team programming of Campaign's social media accounts and develop initiatives to grow Campaign's social media audiences on existing or new social channels by 5% in total per year. . Monitor and respond to audience analytics by adjusting content, headlines and site structure to maximise reader engagement and page views. . Build strong relations with other Haymarket departments, including Content Lab, sales, events, marketing and digital delivery. Help to generate content for events and assist Content Lab and marketing teams with editorial support as appropriate. . Attend and report on Haymarket virtual and live events throughout the region, moderating roundtables, panel sessions and emceeing as needed. . Help establish and maintain partnerships with industry bodies and external organisations. Personal specifications: The ideal candidate will be expected to possess a hunger for journalism, strong writing skills, great motivational skills, the ability to secure news exclusives from industry and a knack for getting the best out of reporters.
