We are looking for a smart, creative, motivated, and ambitious person to join the growing team at our flagship morning TV program, Asia First, which sets up the day for viewers by breaking down the biggest international and financial news stories making waves in the Asia-Pacific region. The Senior/Editor will report to the Supervising Editor, working to help design and set the agenda for a three-hour weekday program that is fast-paced, compelling, and enlightening.

Responsibilities:

• Assign and edit stories, with a sharp focus on maintaining accuracy and quality
• Conceptualise graphics, including augmented reality graphics, to tell stories in a more dynamic and interactive manner
• Sub-edit scripts and graphics
• Help lead the production of news programmes by assigning stories to writers, coordinating graphics requests, planning sequences with the studio crew, and executing live television
• Work with the team to plan for future shows and live events, using graphics and video to turn ideas into captivating and thought-provoking visual programming

Requirements:

• Possess at least 5 - 7 years of experience working in a fast-paced newsroom
• Be creative, be bold, and be a visual storyteller, while encouraging and cultivating those qualities in others around them
• Possess a strong understanding of the big stories in APAC and elsewhere in the world, with an ability to explain and contextualise information for an Asian audience
• Be prepared to work irregular hours
