Technician (Power Systems)
Responsibilities
To perform job assignments by selecting, using and maintaining various service tools correctly.
To perform installation of electrical switches, sensors, transducers, transmitters, current transformers, alternator components, control panels, etc.
To perform installation of engine wiring as accordance with the drawings provided.
To disassemble and assemble engine components i.e. oil pump, water pump and cylinder
head, etc.
To perform engine valve lash adjustment.
To assist and perform mechanical works i.e. installation of radiator assembly, couplings,
engines, alternators, gearbox, piping, hoses, etc.
To assist and perform alignment works for radiator assembly, engine and alternator
installation.
To prepare generators for load test.
To perform safety devices test and load test including the recording of the required
parameter readings.
To perform ET tool connection onto engine to view diagnostic codes and events and file
date.
To perform troubleshooting on engines and generators when problems arises.
Knowledge of Hydraulic Staring System, Marine Gearbox, AC Power Alternator, alignment,
control panel and testing will of advantage.
To perform general servicing on engines and alternators.
IT knowledge will be of advantage.
Programmable Logic Control knowledge will be of advantage.
Requirements
Possess an ITE or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of relevant hands-on experience.
Electrical hands-on experience is a must.
