Job Description

What the role is:
We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Building and Infrastructure Programme Centre, where you will work with multi-disciplinary teams to shape and enhance the capabilities of our defence facilities to support MINDEF/SAF's operational needs.
What you will be working on:
The role will require you to: o Manage construction projects for MINDEF/SAF from planning to tendering and evaluation, site/construction management and transition to Operations & Support o Conduct feasibility and front-end studies and work out project plans, budgets and schedules o Prepare and evaluate invitations to quote and tender submissions to ensure objectivity in the selection process, as well as to ensure that selected solutions meet MINDEF/SAF's needs and are within the approved budget, schedule and project deliverables o Conduct design reviews to ensure that proposed designs meet the project requirements o Conduct regular project meetings and reviews to monitor design development and site progress o Conduct inspection, testing and commissioning of the works on site to ensure that performance specifications are met o Monitor and track defects rectification during the Defects Liability Period and ensure that defects are rectified on time o Keep abreast of innovations in the building industry, as well as policies and governance updates relating to real estate and facilities maintenance management, build-environment management and workplace safety and health
What we are looking for:

• Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering o Preferably with at least 3 years of relevant experience in project management of construction projects o Good understanding of benchmarks, guidelines, statutory requirement and Singapore Standards/Code of Practice in relation to construction management would be an advantage o Preferably with knowledge and experience in Public Sector Standard Conditions of Contract o Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written o Resourceful, good problem-solving skills, able to work independently and in a team
