A major and essential part of the NPI Engineers responsibilities will be defining and implementing the manufacturing assembly and test processes. The NPI engineer will work with R&D engineers, providing input for Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Assembly (DFA) considerations, determining how products will be assembled and establishing pass/fail criteria as well as diagnostic methodologies. The role also entails working alongside system acceptance, diagnosing and isolating product failures, as well establishing test guidelines for new products. Responsibilities: Work with project team to create, maintain and transition series manufacturing of new product, specifying and/or refining BOMs, work flow processes, manufacturing plan and detailed work instructions. Conceptualise, document, procure, qualify, implement, and improve fixtures, tools and equipment for prototype, pre-series and series manufacturing. Analyze manufacturing line from a risk perspective (PFMEA) to incorporate and validate critical tests used in manufacturing. Responsible for the validation and qualification of manufacturing equipment and processes leveraging standard qualification approaches (IQ/OQ/DQ/PQ). Provide production support through successful and sustained project launch. Support identification of and implementation of continuous improvement projects with respect to first pass yield, cycle time reduction, product reliability, capacity enhancement and cost reduction. Provide product and process DFx (Manufacturing, Assembly) input to enhance manufacturability of new products. Takes responsibility for maintaining compliance of the quality system including corrective action closure, discrepant material dispositions and ECP implementation. Provides technical support analyzing and/or performing failure analysis for discrepant production components, assemblies and field returns. Requirements: Diploma/Degree in the field of engineering Minimum 2 - 3 years' experience preferred in manufacturing environment Preferably 1 - 2 years' experience in a machinery production environment Possess knowledge of SMT Technology, application, and work processes Possess knowledge of LEAN methodology Possess knowledge in Total Quality Management (TQM) principles Able to carry out Continuous Improvement Activities
