Responsibilities and Authorities Participate and involves in the design and development of optical system including illumination, imaging and fluorescence detection. Other involvements include:

• Design, specify, evaluate and qualify key optical components such as light source, optical filters, lens and camera
• Design fixture and experimental setup for optical evaluation and experiments
• Conduct optical experiments and testing at component and system level
• Develop testing methodology for mass manufacturing
• Investigate new concept and technology
• Support manufacturing team for issues of existing products
• Conduct simulation and validation of design
• To be the optical system design lead for less complex project

• Degree or Master in Optics or Photonics or Engineering Science

• Optical component design and evaluation
• Optical system design and development
• Application or system integration of optical and optoelectronic component and device
• Optical modeling in illumination and imaging
• Experienced in working in a multi-functional team

• Strong interest in Optics, Physics and Statistics
• Knowledge in geometrical optics, physical optics and photonics
• Design and develop optical component and system
• Optical modeling and simulation using software e.g. ZEMAX for sequential and non-sequential simulation
• Image processing using MATLAB or ImageJ
• Mechanical and / or electrical knowledge and experience
• Completed at least one product development as R&D engineer and successfully transferred to manufacturing for a commercial launch
