Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Consumer Health business to create a new publicly traded company. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 24 months, and it will be subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as required, and other customary conditions and approvals.

It is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, this position may be conveyed with New Consumer Health. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to the successful candidate by New Consumer Health at an appropriate time and would be subject to any necessary consultation processes

The ERLR Head, Asia serves as a subject matter expert in the resolution of complex high-risk employee and labor relations issues of a Country, Cluster of Countries, or a Region. ERLR Head, Asia is responsible for leading a team that provides services in a timely manner, treats the workforce respectfully and maintains high levels of confidentiality, trust, and integrity in the handling of sensitive matters. The ERLR Head conducts thorough investigations into highly complex ER issues and assists in design/development, implementation and on-going maintenance of employee/labor relations strategy, practices, and policies. They are responsible for the Labor Relations expert consulting services to Businesses (such as collective bargaining agreements administration and negotiation, works councils' consultations and other Labor Relations procedures).

The ERLR Head may have relationship and strategy management responsibility for a country, cluster of countries and/or a region. The incumbent also develops tools and programs to aid in building and developing organizational capability and strengthening employee engagement; fosters thought leadership; facilitates knowledge transfer and stays abreast of leading-edge policies, provides support or leadership to continuous improvement initiatives, trends, and practices across the enterprise. The ERLR Head may be assigned key projects or roles.

They foster a culture of collaboration and of rigorous adherence to standards, process excellence and continuous improvement. The ERLR Head ensures a high level of partnership with other HR functions as well as business leaders and provide a consistent governance. They represent the Company at the regional/country/cluster of countries level regarding all external ER or LR stakeholders.

Approximately 35% of the role will be devoted to the following responsibilities:

Manage country/cluster of countries/regional operational activities to achieve target key performance indicators, operational level agreements and service levels by executing resource planning to ensure availability of staff and support. Manage the operational plans to increase the effectiveness of services while improving the customer experience and ensuring a consistent approach at the country/cluster of countries/regional level for Employee Relations and Labor Relations. This includes: ensure timely and compliant handling of all ER-related cases, including Grievance and Discipline Requests, supervise implementation of coaching & training initiatives of managers and employees and participate to these initiative, support management of Grievance and Discipline requests, due to their particular sensitivity and/or requiring higher level knowledge and authority and/or interaction with 3rd Parties, Drive direct interventions with Managers and employees on highly sensitive cases and/or escalations, define the Labor Relations Strategy both at the country/cluster of countries/region and legal entities level, with input from team, business senior management & HR Business Partners, supervise the preparation & negotiation of all collective bargaining agreements within agreed parameters, participate in negotiation if appropriate, conduct along with his/her team business impact assessment, ad hoc Labor Relations consulting including for major workforce events (M&A, Divestitures, Restructuring, Reduction in Force, ...), and participates to employee representatives' meetings if appropriate.

The role will also include Performance Management - supervising the implementation of coaching & training initiatives of managers on managing low-performance issues and participating in these initiatives and participating in the effective implementation of all business and/or HR projects, both at the country and region level. The role will also notify relevant COE, and Global Policies team on regulatory changes and ensure workplace policies are current and in compliance with applicable local laws.

Approximately 35% of the role will be devoted to the following responsibilities:

Provide professional guidance to teams within the Region. Effectively integrate new support requirements into Region as they are introduced by HR special projects and initiatives. As a member of the Regional HR Council participates in the achievement of the strategy at the regional level. Manage and motivate team members to achieve and exceed service standards by identifying staff performance gaps, and allocating time to listen, monitor, and provide constructive feedback for performance improvement. Maintain transparent communication channel with Regional and/or local ER/LR, HR Business Partners, and business leaders by summarizing and reporting on operational updates and issues for support, staff planning, and development. Create & ensure efficient governance and collaboration with HR Business Partners & business stakeholders.

The role will work closely with internal and external colleagues within the country/work location(s), monitor team members' workload and performance, ensuring proper assignment of cases and workload balancing, lead and contribute to scheduled and ad hoc training in order to improve performance and promote continuous learning. Specifically, impulse a coaching & training strategy dedicated to make the management community gain ER & LR capabilities. Build an internal and external professional network to maintain an appropriate view of the workplace and marketplace and to leverage the Company's image (including representation of the Company in the industrial organization). Maintains a frequent networking with employee representatives, formal or informal, while setting the right space to the members of his/her team in order for them to install close relationship

Approximately 30% of the role will be devoted to the following responsibilities:

Manage and monitor operational data and reports, constantly communicating performance with the team and actively working to identify and implement interventions to maintain service standards. Utilize operational practices and reports, including quality audits, standard, and ad hoc reports in order to identify issues and take actions to achieve performance goals and targets. Implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance the provision of services by reviewing and providing feedback on operational processes, policies, standard operating procedures, and work instructions and introduce key improvement plans for execution

Other responsibilities of the role include:

Stay current on country/cluster of countries/regional employment and labor practices. Manage and motivate team members to achieve and exceed service standards by identifying staff performance gaps, and allocating time to listen, monitor, and provide constructive feedback for performance improvement. Develop staff capability, knowledge, skills, and understanding of the country or countries and Work Locations by organizing frequent functional/ operational training and knowledge-sharing activities for members of the team. Comply with and enforce standards for maintaining a confidential and sensitive work environment for the team, focusing on customer service by handling all customer requests in a professional manner. Conduct environmental scans and participate in significant workplace events (such as the planning and execution of RIF's, M&A's, etc. at the cluster/country level. Perform special projects and related duties as assigned
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a business field, Human Resources or Industrial Relations, or Law Degree is required

8+ years HR experience with a concentration in Employee Relations, Labor Relations, and HR Generalist experience

Expertise in Employment and Labor Relations regulations & practices

Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex and highly sensitive issues (including involvement of senior level) and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems

Strong experience managing, planning, and implementing projects and strategic change initiatives

Strong experience of industrial labor relations and of direct management of complex negotiations, industrial complex social climate, and sensitive issues
