Position Overview The Group Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Senior Manager / Director will be responsible for developing and overseeing environmental, social and corporate governance policies and procedures. The incumbent will provide technical expertise on key issues related to environmental and social impact assessment taking into consideration best industry practices and standards. This person will be support and adequately articulate the company vision in response to clients, service partners and other bodies. The incumbent is responsible for providing strategic oversight of Crown\xe2\x80\x99s sustainability agenda working closely with business heads and their designated employees to lead effective, sustainable, inclusive, and socially responsible initiatives. This person will formulate the vision and game plan on how to set the ESG agenda and priorities in the next years to come.
Key responsibilities
ENVIRONMENT

  • Act as an environmental SME (Subject Matter Expert) for internal and external stakeholders and advisor on external reporting requirements and options.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor an Environmental and Sustainability Management System (ESMS) for the group to be implemented in 2023 in all business areas, across all operational levels.
  • Coordinate with Crown Sustainability Steering Committee the implementation of the ESMS in all business areas to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.
  • Coordinate the environment initiatives and the compliance to law and regulatory
requirements of Crown operating locations and work with the business leaders across all regions we operate in.
  • Pro-actively support the Management in driving the education, communication, training, and implementation of the ESMS across the company in all operational areas, including
sub-contractors and supply chains, where relevant.
  • Work with and support the Health & Safety and Risk department to review and develop our EHS related management system in line with international standards and guidelines.

SOCIAL & DEI
  • Help to define and monitor the Crown\xe2\x80\x99s proposition on social values and the measurement of its impact.
  • Review Crown\xe2\x80\x99s overall CSR/DEI objectives annually with Executive Board, VP HR and company steering committees and stakeholders.
  • Define strategies to support Crown\xe2\x80\x99s CSR/DEI objectives, looking for opportunities to develop new initiatives.
  • Work to promote and encourage employee behaviour in alignment with Crown values.
  • Provide oversight of the ESMS related to CSR initiatives. Follow up with offices to ensure all activities are entered. Review progress quarterly to ensure branches are actively participating in activities and Crown globally is on target to meet defined goals for increased impact (e.g., increased participation, number of activities, etc.).
  • Promote sharing of CSR/DEI initiatives, activities and successes via Sharepoint, Yammer, Town Halls, etc.
  • Seek opportunities to develop or collaborate on global or regional community outreach campaigns, whilst enabling local flexibility.
  • Actively engage and support Global and Regional Account Managers to ensure joint-CSR activities with Crown\xe2\x80\x99s largest accounts, wherever possible.
  • Attend and be Crown\xe2\x80\x99s ESG spoke person in external networks and events.
  • Stay informed of developments in DEI topics applying this knowledge to delivering Crown\xe2\x80\x99s DEI objectives.
  • Jointly with HR, develop resources and deliver initiatives to help raise awareness of DEI topics.
  • Increase the understanding of and engagement in DEI internally and communicate progress on DEI topics and initiatives.
  • Provide advice and support to leaders and colleagues, including for RFPs, training, etc.

GOVERNANCE
  • Stay informed about any changes/developments in requirements of CSR/ESG-related certifications and membership, e.g., ISO 14001, UN Global Compact, Ecovadis, Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) and Science Base Target initiative (SBTi).
  • Maintain and develop CSR/DEI policy documents, in partnership with other stakeholders where applicable (e.g., Employee Volunteering Policy, Crisis Response Policy, Environmental Statement & Policy, DEI Policy).
  • In compliance with requirements of UN Global Compact, Ecovadis and CDP, prepare and submit the annual Sustainability Report, working with stakeholders (Marketing, HR, Compliance, IT, Global Alliance, Risk) to obtain the necessary information to complete this.
  • Understand and promote education of corporate governance disciplines including Anti-Bribery and Corruption and Data Privacy.

COMMUNICATION
  • Work with Marketing to develop external news (press releases, feature articles, etc.) to share Crown\xe2\x80\x99s ESG efforts, successes, and insights of interest to customers, clients, the business community at large and other stakeholders.
  • Share any ESG trends or newsworthy developments with marketing to promote the successful placement of the above.
  • Identify and develop relationships with Crown branches with the aim of gathering information, establishing ESG parameters and rationale, and recruiting volunteers into the ESG initiatives.
  • Communicating ESG projects and their results to staff, corporate partners, businesses, the media, and other stakeholders through reports, press conferences, presentations, and other methods. Working with Marketing teams to identify PR opportunities related to ESG.
  • Assist in ESG-related responses to RFP questions, when needed.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Senior-level candidate with at least 10 years of corporate experience in either environment, DEI, health & wellbeing, climate change, social impact or risk management.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree and above.
  • Working knowledge in Carbon Footprint Reduction, Ecovadis and CDP
  • Good training & communication skills
  • Independent, resilient, articulate, reliable, and flexible.
  • Good networker, passionate, authentic and influencer to liaise within the regions, customers, supply chains and other bodies
