Our Team:

Vaccines Industrial Affaires (VIA) is preparing its future through an ambitious program named Evolutive Vaccine Facility (EVF). The EVF Project is at the cornerstone of Sanofi strategy as it aims at creating a new manufacturing concept consisting of a new generation of evolutive multi-product facilities, modular, adaptable and agile, leveraging new disruptive technologies, to better address vaccine business challenges as well as Specialty Care Biologics products . One of these two EVF is implemented in Singapore in a new Greenfield site, with a design identical to the one in Neuville (France).

The Manufacturing Technology (MTech) drives the vaccines industrialization and the improvement of processes and products. It embarks new technologies and digital trends. It is the keeper of manufacturing process knowledge. MTech is at the crossroad of R&D and production. It is a multi-disciplinary function that provides expertise in process, manufacturing sciences, process modeling, statistical analysis, process validation and technology transfer.

The EVF Singapore MTech Leader is in charge of setting up the Singapore MTech team and activities, which will support the overall MTech EVF team to execute the project in Singapore and, after project execution, provide manufacturing assistance and receiving site activities for tech transfers to Singapore. He/she will create part of the team, from selecting and onboarding resources, organizing interfaces and processes with other functions, ensuring execution of EVF strategy in cooperation with the EVF MTech team - mostly located in France, facilitating each process set-up, qualification and validation with the related process teams led by their Drug Substance Leader.

This key role will ensure EVF ambition is achieved in the Singapore EVF in a consistent manner, through collaboration with the global and Neuville EVF MTech teams, and leveraging on the Singapore biotech ecosystem. The position will first report to the EVF Mtech head then eventually to the Singapore MTech Head when this position will be in place.

Main responsibilities:

Create the Singapore MTech Team
  • Together with the EVF MTech head, create part of the team organization (deliverables, processes...)
  • Select and on-board the team to deliver process validations
Execute equipment qualification and process validation for the first processes implemented in EVF
  • Oversee C&Q for process equipment with close cooperation with global EVF process design integration team
  • Synchronize local activities of external partners (process equipment suppliers) with EVF project team
  • Support product teams to create validation documentation and to execute validation activities
  • Monitor and Report validation execution to global MTech EVF Team
Build the future MTech organization in Singapore, especially the future pilot plant
  • Define functional needs for the Singapore pilot plant
  • Create URS for all equipment in the pilot
  • Oversee installation and commissioning of pilot process and analytical equipment
  • Set-up organization, processes and SOP to run the pilot plant activities
Provide support to manufacturing
  • Support manufacturing teams for construction of operating procedures
  • Provide training to local team on all process related topics
  • Lead initiatives for process improvement
  • Provide process expertise for corrective and preventive actions
Scope and dimensions
  • Breadth of responsibility (global/regional/country/site): Cooperation with multiple entities global and local (BRD, MTech global, MTech CoE, Engineering teams ...). Management of a team of around 10 technicians, engineers and scientists
  • Key dimensions: Large Project (
600 MEUR). 2 NVs & process platforms (growing to
1 billion turnover). Connecting Sanofi organization & complexity and Singapore competitive environment * Freedom to act, level of autonomy: Significant autonomy to create this activity remotely from global team.

About you
  • Experience: Successful experience in biotech development, operation, engineering; ideally from several entities geared towards innovation and agile development.
  • Soft skills:
  • Pragmatism, curiosity, entrepreneurship, agility.
  • Transversal management and strong listening abilities
  • Ability to connect with the broader Sanofi and to adapt to sanofi Ways of Working
  • Technical skills: Strong technical background on flexible biotech processing, USP and DSP, Single Use Technologies, PAT.
  • Education: PhD or Master Degree in Biotechnology engineering
  • Languages: English
