Job Description

• 3-5 years work experience in Accounting-related roles with prior external audit background required
• Cands who are external auditors without commercial accounting exp welcome to apply
• Familiar with Financial Reporting Standards, and able to perform Analysis work and making sense of the GL report and the business

Our client is a renowned MNC with its global HQ based in Mapletree Business Park (10 min walk from the Labrador MRT station). It is now looking for a hands-on exec, financial accounting and analytics professional to join its global finance department based in Singapore. The co offers a global MNC work environment and also WFH arrangements for some days in a week.

Reporting to a financial accounting mgr, you will perform the following:

• Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of financial records of assigned companies
• Analytical review of financial statements of assigned companies
• Prepare audited financial statements of assigned companies
• Prepare audit schedules and liaise with auditors accordingly
• Prepare periodic financial report for reporting to Joint Venture partners or banks
• Prepare and monitor funding position of assigned vessels and/or companies
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders and business partners on the performance of assigned vessels and/or companies
• Participate in the monthly review and closing process of the assigned vessels and/or companies
• Prepare tax compliance submission for assigned companies
• Perform revaluation and allocation function in Oracle as appropriate
• Prepare journal entries and maintain accounting schedules as appropriate
• Maintain fixed assets information in a timely and accurate manner
• Perform checks to ensure accuracy of the system generated information
• Assist in administrative matters in the department
• Actively participate and engage in the process for the continuous improvement of departmental procedures through QMS
• Other ad-hoc duties

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting / professional qualification in Accounting
• 4-5 years work experience in Accounting-related roles with some external audit exp.
• Working knowledge of Financial Reporting Stds (FRS). Some analysis work required to sense of numbers in GL report and the business
• Strong computer skills and experience in computerized accounting/ERP systems an advantage
• Most recent work experience should include the following gained as an auditor or as an accountant:
  • Analytical review of financial statements
  • Preparation of financial reports
  • Preparation of audit schedules and liaison with auditors
• Matured and strong team player with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels
• Prior experience in shipping industry and/or shared service centre will be an added advantage but this is not a must
• Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
• Comfortable in handling high volume work in a fast paced environment
• Able to commence immediately or within short notice
