Responsibilities




You will be in charge of corporate oversight and governance of select companies in PIL’s global shipping agency network as well as driving strategic and investment projects in key markets.

  • You will be assigned a portfolio of 5-10 companies and be a key HQ liaison (Person-In-Charge, or “PIC”) for all corporate matters for your assigned portfolio companies.
  • You will ensure that your companies provide timely, relevant, and accurate reporting which will allow you and the Team Lead to conduct thorough analysis of business performance against historical and budgeted results to facilitate management decision making.
  • You will monitor the performance and trend of financial results and key efficiency ratios by liaising and communicating directly with the key local management of your assigned companies.
  • You will assist to ensure your portfolio companies follow sound corporate governance principles in line with HQ policies and expectations.
  • You will assist in the administration of overseas HR matters, annual financial audits, annual budgets, and CAPEX.
  • You will co-ordinate/prepare board meetings, review and administer the execution of key contracts/resolutions and any other ad-hoc administrative matters where required.
  • Projects work can include HR restructuring, corporate restructuring, mergers, acquisitions, greenfield/brownfield investments, etc.
  • For projects, you will provide research, financial, and analytical support to drive business decisions and strategic initiatives, including evaluation of investment opportunities, business proposals, obtaining relevant corporate approvals, and eventually the review and execution of key agreements and other legal/corporate documents. You will assist in end-to-end project execution and work with various internal/external stakeholders to realize the project in totality.




Requirements




  • Degree in STEM, Finance, Business, Economics, Maritime or related discipline with 0-2 years of relevant working experience and an interest to pursue a shipping career.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) & people management.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PPT).
