Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily operational oversight in Kitchens and ensuring smooth end-to-end operational flow through effective deployment and execution of roles
  • Report incidents or non-conformance to Operations Manager for upward reporting to respective management team(s)
  • Work with Operations Manager and Sous Chef to provide recovery support during incident, resolution for meals feedback and advisory on food production matters
  • Ensure all relevant parties comply with food safety practices, personal hygiene practices, kitchen cleanliness and workplace safety practices regulated by relevant authorities / agencies
  • Execute regular inspection routine to ensure adherence to high food production standards, with meals prepared of acceptable quality and palatability
  • Ensure meals are consistently prepared and served in accordance to requirements and SOP
  • Responsible for onboarding programme of newly hired personnel
  • Review food costing and develop costing for customized menu catered for in-house / special events.
Key Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts, Food & Beverage Management, Hospitality, or equivalent.
Minimum 5-7 years of relevant culinary experience, including supervisory or managerial exposure.
Proven experience in high-volume kitchens, central kitchens, catering operations, or similar environments is preferred.
Technical Skills
Strong culinary knowledge with expertise in food preparation, production planning, and menu development.
Good understanding of food safety standards, HACCP, personal hygiene requirements, and workplace safety regulations.
Ability to analyse and review food costing, portion control, and inventory usage.
Proficient in kitchen operations, workflow planning, and process adherence to SOPs.
Leadership & Management
Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff.
Good decision-making and problem-solving abilities, especially during operational incidents.
Excellent coordination and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Personal Attributes
High level of responsibility, discipline, and professionalism.
Strong sense of initiative and ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high food quality and consistency.
Adaptability and willingness to support operational needs, including irregular hours when required.
