Our Energy practice is looking for an experienced markets and commercial advisor, who is an expert in the Philippines to join our growing advisory team in Singapore

What you will be doing

• Perform fundamentals-based research on the South Korean power market, taking into consideration generation mix, regulatory policies, emission targets, and other market-specific factors.
• Apply fundamentals-based research towards developing and maintaining power market models, so as to produce robust modelling of electricity price projections and fuel mix forecasts.
• Providing bespoke market advisory to clients, which can include transaction advisory (buy-side and sell-side), PPA structuring, market opportunity assessment, or evaluation of impending policy or rule changes.

Your skills and experience

We recruit individuals at all levels based on merit. Some of the key sills we are looking for are:

• You have Energy experience of at least 4 years, with an in-depth understanding of the power market dynamics in South Korea.
• You are familiar with the price formation dynamics of the System Marginal Price (SMP) on the Korean Power Exchange, pricing dynamics of the Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) markets (both spot and contracted markets).Understanding of solar and offshore wind developments and regulations in the South Korea market, particularly with regards to project economics.
• You can demonstrate quantitative skills/capability, ideally with experience in power market modelling software / methods (e.g. PLEXOS, Linear Programming methods such as GAMS).
• You have experience in asset valuation, commercial due diligence and transaction advisory, and familiarity with Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) developments in South Korea, the associated clauses, and the impact on bankability.
• You can provide analysis to investors, developers, lenders and off-takers, based on detailed quantitative analysis and providing advice grounded in facts, including curtailment analysis.
• You are an excellent communicator in English and Korean both in written and verbal forms.
