Job Description


:

  • Responsible for managing the full suite of the Facilities Department including but not limited to daily operations of the sub-departments, Security, Landscaping, Maintenance, Housekeeping, Nursing and Operations support.
  • Provide overall supervision of the building to ensure all systems (traffic, security, fire safety, landscaping, electrical) are running smoothly and safely.
  • Gain in depth knowledge and understanding of school and departmental policies and procedures and ensure that they are adhered to at all times.
  • Develop and manage a planned preventive maintenance schedule for respective departments, undertaking the responsibility of facilities work with safety as a priority and so as not to disrupt the school day.
  • To be responsible for carrying out daily / weekly / monthly checks to ensure that all statutory and advisory inspections are undertaken, recorded and actions implemented - proactively inspecting all facilities of the school including but not limited to Eg. classrooms, staff offices, specialized rooms, sports grounds, play areas, common spaces, any other areas within the school compound.
  • Schedule, manage and supervise daily works of team members. Prioritize work on a need/time sensitive basis after consultation with the relevant stakeholders. Regular site walk / review to ensure all areas of the school compound are safe, compliant and well presented.
  • To act as the first point of contact for all school deliveries, ensuring that items are moved promptly to the appropriate area / person.
  • To take preventative measures and steps to eliminate health and safety risks where possible, and report any hazards immediately to the facilities manager.
  • Classrooms, spaces and furniture movement, set up and tear down as required.
  • To work closely with all community members within the school and support where required for school events planning, execution, set up, tear down.
  • Liaise with:
  • External contractors to manage elevators, fire and emergency systems, landscape, waste disposal, pest control, etc. to ensure the school facilities are well maintained and escorting and advising external contractors attending the school site, ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures.
  • Cleaning contractor and their school-based supervisor to ensure that their cleaning and hygiene standards meet the school\xe2\x80\x99s expectations.
  • Security Contractor on all security related issues to ensure compliance with policies on safety, security and child protection.
  • To monitor construction/renovation contractors work and check completed works prior to handover.
  • External partner vendors to ensure compliance with policies and ethos of school to maintain safety, security and child protection.
  • Possible suppliers and vendors for quotations and service contracts, ensuring best value is obtained, when deputizing for the facilities manager.
  • Various government authorities as needed.
  • To carry out any ad-hoc tasks and duties as required by the Senior Leadership Team
Qualifications:

Job Requirements
  • Minimum Diploma / Degree in related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in managing daily operations.
  • At least 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 relevant experience in safety, security and facility maintenance
  • Valid Singapore Class 3 Driving License is beneficial.
  • Willing to be hands on, operations oriented and prioritizing child safety.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be able to relate to people in a professional manner.
  • Must have the ability to remain focused and possess good problem solving skills despite internal and external distractions.
  • Must be able to recognize safety hazards and exhibit good safety awareness and judgment.
  • Team player with ability to multitask and good communication skills
  • Able to work independently, proactively and highly motivated
