Role Responsibilities Domain Responsibilities

  • Provides subject matter expertise for relevant product and project activity coverage in coordination with regulatory matters relating to AML-related risks.
  • Understand business domain aspects relevant to AML Monitoring and Case Management.
  • Able to conceptualize, design, support and align relevant processes and controls to industry best practice, and close out any compliance gaps.
  • Sophisticated stakeholder management with the ability to collaborate across teams and hierarchies spanning different geographical locations.
  • Review and Analyse Project Artefacts, identifying any anomalies and tracking resolution with applicable implementation teams.
  • Ensure Transaction Monitoring Coverage documentation is up-to-date, accurately reflecting Countries, Segments, Transactions and Detection Scenario coverage.
  • Ability to design, develop and deploy custom AML detection scenarios for new requirements that may arise.
  • Support audit and testing teams to articulate AML eco-system functionality and technical design.
  • Ability to act as an individual contributor and contribute in collaboration with agile model based squad implementation teams.
  • Review assigned System change management, Business rule validations, Enhancements and Detection Scenario implementation.
Risk Management
  • Apply Group and GTMS policies and processes (AML monitoring) to manage risks.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to understand the emanating risks and ensuring those are suitably addressed through the assigned project squads.
  • Ensure appropriate and valid agreements are in place for consumption of product and segment data for Transaction Monitoring.
  • Make recommendations (and support in implementation where required) to relevant stakeholders on possible risk mitigants to identified risks or areas of concerns from project rollouts.
  • Provide Transaction Monitoring subject matter expertise on outcome of AML Risk Identification and Assessment Methodologies.
  • Provide guidance in understanding technical and AML detection related aspects of Transaction Monitoring systems pertinent to a country.
  • Collaborate with risk owners on implementing change risk process and seeking approval on risk framework.
Governance
  • Propose control improvements, enhancements and simplifications where appropriate.
  • Support all control checks undertaken by FCSO under the Operational Risk Framework (ORF).
  • Periodic reporting and timely escalation of significant risks and issues arising from FCC Monitoring and Assurance activities.
  • Ensure tracking and remediation of surveillance and investigations related regulatory findings.
  • Report product and segment related matters impacting monitoring in relevant FCC and Upstream Governance Committees.
  • Provide regular progress updates on agreed mitigation actions concerning Transaction Monitoring infrastructure.
  • Analyse and interpret data to produce reports that help the bank identify and manage emerging areas of risk / vulnerability and thus drive remediation action within the FCSO function.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Graduate / basic qualifications in banking/ finance/ audit/ systems.
  • ACAMS or equivalent would be an advantage.
Experience
  • Proven working experience in AML teams (project implementation and in BAU) at a global financial institution.
  • At least 5+ years of experience working on mantas AML with demonstrated ability to develop /deploy detection scenarios from scratch.
  • Experience in different banking domains - retail, corporate, private banking, asset, liability and payments.
  • Experience in handling senior stake holders across geographies.
  • Good presentation, and interpersonal skills to influence the decision and manage stakeholders.
