About the roleThis role is fundamental to safeguarding client funds and to understanding our liquidity position. It is all about validating the reporting of our revenues and profits; and to achieve this the person fulfilling this position will need to know about how we "tick" as a business: what are our funds flows, how does finance interact with the business and how do we operationalise business and technological change within finance. It is a true FinOps role that links the Business with Finance. What are the key responsibilities / activities of the role: Financial Reconciliation

• Owning and processing the daily client account reconciliations across various crypto and non-crypto currencies, including the investigation and resolution of all exceptions
• Owning and processing the daily operational account reconciliations across various crypto and non-crypto currencies; including the investigation and resolution of all exceptions
• Providing daily consolidated reconciled cash balances for liquidity management
• Reconciling daily revenue prior to sweeping profits to operational accounts
• Maintaining clear records of reconciliation issues and associated action logs
• Validating internally reported financials by reconciling to all supporting records
• Understanding the flows of funds in the business, and their impacts on the above reconciliations
• Monitoring exchange rate movements and escalating risk impacts on cash balances
• Build working relationships with Operations to facilitate process improvements in reconciliation processes
• Ensuring all documentation relating to above processes is fully instructional and kept up to date

Change Management

• Be adaptable to, and embrace, change
• Support leadership with operationalising new finance processes as a result of operational/technological changes, and from new business
• Understanding how crypto providers report at a transactional level and be able to identify and communicate issues as they arise
• Be able to identify, and champion, process improvements to drive efficiencies, simplicity and transparency

Financial Reporting

• Process all required trade related GL bookings
• Support financial leadership with compiling/maintaining ad-hoc financial information
• Support finance leadership with internal and external audit request for information
• Ensure compliance with the financial controls implemented in the company

Essential skills, qualifications and experience required for the role?

• BS Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2-3 years of work experience; must be familiar with accounting principles and processes.
• Experience using accounting systems, Xero experience desirable but not essential.
• Good with Excel and understanding of G-suite desirable.
• Experience with cross-functional reconciliations within a banking or payments environment (e.g., Finance and Operations).
• Good communication skills and stakeholder management across international teams.

Supplemental Pay:

Experience:

• cross functional reconciliation: 1 year (Preferred)
• Banking/Fintech/Payments industry: 1 year (Preferred)
• Xero or any accounting system: 1 year (Preferred)
