In your role, you will:

• Adhere to General Work Requirements
• Perform all payroll and fringe accounting journal entries and analysis
• Perform and coordinate account payables process
• Record all transactions related to aircraft contracts as needed
• Perform all daily cash accounting for all entries
• Perform fixed asset reporting including acquisitions, disposal and depreciation
• Prepare work papers and accruals for month end
• Prepare and post journal entries, for example payroll & fringe, inter-company, fixed assets, aircraft transactions, and cash to general ledger
• Assist with developing budgets and analysing variances for labour, overhead, expenses, capital expenditure and headcount
• Monitor actual versus budget variances on a monthly basis, and analyse trends
• Complete monthly management report reviews including maintenance of schedules and databases
• Assist with financial analysis projects for assigned business unit(s), for example, return-on-investment and purchase vs. lease analysis
• Review, reconcile and verify accuracy of system values for Work-in-progress and finished goods to sub-ledger
• Perform account analysis, for example, bank reconciliation, accrued liabilities, aircraft provisions, inventory and advances
• Perform account analysis, for example sales tax, petty cash and inventory for stock room accounts
• Prepare and coordinate the A/R and A/P confirmation process, reporting and account reconciliation
• Maintain, update and link weekly cash forecast files
• Assist in the coordination and completion of internal and external audits of the Company
• Administer capital budget and monitor actuals versus budget variances on a monthly basis
• Prepare capital inventory elements of monthly forecasts
• Analyse, reconcile and prepare elements of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other formal financial reports on a scheduled basis
• Preparation of monthly financials
• Presentation skills necessary for informal settings for example, departmental management
• Working knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate,

• You hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• You hold a professional certificate – recognized Chartered Accountant or in progress
• You have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience
• You have interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other business areas and governmental agencies
• You have verbal and written communication skills
• You have planning and organizational skills necessary to coordinate workload around multiple assignments
• You have computer skills necessary to operate word processing, spreadsheet, database, email, and web-based applications and accounting systems
• You have analytical and judgment skills necessary to evaluate, interpret and reconcile accounting data according to company and departmental procedures
• You have knowledge of IFRS
• You have knowledge of accounting procedures and concepts for example, general ledger, balance sheets and profit and loss statement
• You have previous experience within aviation (would be ideal)
• You have previous experience with SAP (preferred)
• You have basic knowledge of process improvement methodology and application - e.g. Six Sigma (preferred)
• You have fluent English oral and written skills
• You have a good sense of time management.
