JOB KEY ROLE/PURPOSE
The Finance Manager is involved in most aspects of accounting and oversees the day-to-day activities of the accounting team. He/she ensures that the company’s finance function is well organized as well as produces timely and accurate financial statements and management accounts. He/she must also analyze data and understand the financial performance and position of the company in order to develop suitable accounting policies to meet reporting requirements and to produce reports required by the management. The Accounts Manager is responsible for the cost control for the company including Profit and Loss analysis, Inventory Control and Production reports. He/she is accountable for the correct and timely processing of the company’s receivables, payables and payroll. He/she oversees all aspects of financial management, performance management, financial accounting, budgeting, corporate reporting etc. He/she is responsible to manage the accruals, approve qualifying expenses, prepare monthly journal of P&L and Balance Sheet accounts to ensure proper and accurate recording of the business activity.
He/she assists the Chief Financial Officer in business improvement initiative. He/she is responsible to review all expense and purchase records, prepare and implement product Bills of Materials, publish monthly cost reports. He/she works closely with the internal and external auditors, bankers and regulators. He/she must keep current with changing statutory requirements and tax laws and determine the implications of such changes to financial reporting. He/she should have a strong economic and business understanding and should be able to implement and advice implement work improvement projects.
