M Capital Management (MCM) is a Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) licensed Venture Capital Fund Manager with a VCC (Variable Capital Corp) umbrella structure managing distinct funds under the brand of M Venture Partners (www.m-venturepartners.com).The firm is currently hiring a Finance Manager to join the Singapore based team. This position is a great opportunity to gain a broad range of experience within a growing venture capital firm. Responsibilities will revolve around fund accounting, fund administration, compliance reporting, financial and office management. MCM is seeking a like-minded professional who is keen to establish a long-term relationship with a rapidly expanding regional venture capital franchise.Key responsibilities Reviewing the funds' NAV calculations and year-end financial statements prepared by the fund administrator company (outsourced) Manage all finance functions related to the Fund Manager and Fund and any of its related entities or affiliates as they arise (e.g., subsequent funds) Coordinate and drive investor activities, including on-boarding, capital calls, distributions as well as the issuance of shareholder statements Assist with answering enquiries from fund administrators, accountants, auditors, regulators and more importantly, the fund investors (LPs) Ensuring the Manager and Funds are working within the MAS compliance and anti-money laundering guidelines From time-to-time support the Investment Team on potential investments or portfolio company monitoring as and when the need arises (including that in subsequent funds, for pro-rata subscription rights, divestments etc.)The ideal applicant will have: Requirements At least 3 years of corporate and/or fund accounting experience in the alternative investment industry Some audit experience will be ideal Graduated with bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Chartered Accountancy qualification such as CA or CPA is a plus Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Strong work ethic, self-motivated, proactive, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated proficiency with Google Docs Editors suite, i.e. Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides Passionate about the start-up scene and venture capital investmentsYou will also be: Results-oriented with high prioritisation skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and deliver projects in a timely fashion Must use discretion working with confidential and sensitive information regarding the company, executive management, and investors Highly collaborative with excellent communication (written and verbal) Ability to work well in a team structure yet demonstrate independence with tasks assignedBenefits Insight - You'll get to work with a firm that's investing in early stage tech startups in Southeast Asia and India & sit-in on weekly meetings where we discuss exciting investment opportunities Financial reward - MVP aims to grow in substantial step-function and will reward all team members accordingly Career Mobility - a possibility to transition to the investment team after a period of strong performance as Finance Manager Health - You will be covered under the company's medical insurance plan and get to enjoy team fitness programs Culture - We're a small team and enjoy hanging out with each other over team lunches, occasional outings and more Environment - Our office is on the first floor of a beautiful shophouse located in Telok Ayer
