The Sustainability finance team plays a crucial role in fostering a balanced approach to fulfil the Group\'s sustainability commitments while simultaneously optimising financial impact. The Group is actively engaged in multiple initiatives and the current focus of this position is to support the conceptualisation and implementation of these initiatives.

Make an Impact by:

  • Liaise with Group Sustainability, Property, Procurement, Risk and Opcos to implement the Group\'s sustainability finance policies. This involves documenting policies and preparation of presentation material across various Group\'s sustainability finance tracks.
  • Assist in development and implementation of Green energy accounting and cost allocation principles, including virtual power purchase agreements.
  • Provide support for the implementation of Internal Carbon Pricing (ICP), including the evaluation of business cases and tenders, organising briefings and preparation of ICP reports.
  • Contribute to achieving full compliance with IFRS sustainability-finance disclosures by conducting GAP analysis, maintaining Group electricity volume forecasts, and coordinating with business units for appropriate disclosures.
  • Provide support in all other Group finance sustainability related matters as assigned.
Skills for Success:
  • The Sustainability finance team is a new set-up, thus is it important to have individual with strong drive and initiative to proactively learn, explore new standards, and share findings effectively.
  • Attention to detail is required as the role requires financial modelling and reconciliation of data obtained from OpCos with other sources.
  • The ideal candidate should be comfortable navigating ambiguity and embracing change as Sustainability standards and implementation processes are still evolving and not fully mature.
  • The role requires adaptability to ensure successful engagement with diverse stakeholders across Opcos and Corporate units with unique needs and concerns; thus, effective management of these varied perspectives is important.
  • Degree in accountancy, finance or related disciplines. However, those with quantitative degrees (e.g engineering) would also be considered.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of working experience
  • Basic knowledge or familiarity with sustainability (GRI) or IFRS standards (S1/S2; IFRS 9)
  • Strong analytical skills demonstrated through prior work or project experience
  • Passion for sustainability and a keen learner of technical and accounting standards (e.g IFRS S1/S2)
  • Highly organised with excellent communication, interpersonal and teaming skills
  • Proficiency in the use of PowerPoint, Word and Excel
