PURPOSE

This role responsibilities are mainly to support Head of Finance in leading the Finance Operations functions to ensure quality and timely delivery of all deliverables of the function.

KEY ACCOUNTAIBILITIES


  • Lead the Finance Operations functions on accounts payables, policy-related payments for all distribution channel, receipting and procurement

  • Complete month-end close process, bank and system related balance sheet reconciliations with aging analysis to ensure balances are accurate

  • Ensure that end to end procurement process are being adhered in accordance with procurement policy

  • Drive end to end process relating to finance on implementation of new products, various business initiatives and operation enhancements

  • Ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency within the Finance Operations

  • Ensure documentation and adherence of processes and controls within Finance Operations inclusive of process flows and SOPs

  • Actively look to improve the workflow and processes with a view of minimizing control weakness whilst improving efficiency and ensuring accuracy of critical outputs


QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • Qualified Accountant with at least 7 to10 years of relevant working experiences

  • Experience and significant knowledge of insurance industry and insurance accounting, preferably for both GI and Life insurance products

  • Good knowledge of Finance Operations process flow and internal control

  • Proven leadership and team management experience

  • High personal levels of motivation and delivery orientated focus, with good aptitude in decision-making, problem-solving and strategic agility


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY

  • Strong communication skills, thus ability to liaise with and work across departments in order to achieve best outcomes for the business and customer

  • Sound understanding of IT knowledge

  • Good knowledge of Sun & Oracle accounting system as well as policy systems (including AS400, eBao)

  • Knowledge of applicable accounting standards

  • Knowledge and experience of best practice within industry to consistently improve delivery within department
