The Finance Systems Manager will work closely with Finance and IT teams providing support, advice and guidance to ensure they are efficiently and effectively using the firm\'s systems.

You will lead projects, work with stakeholders at all levels and develop enhancements to the existing system that enhance the firm\'s efficacy and ability to meet its clients\' needs.

Responsibilities

  • All aspects of operational support from resolving issues from users and understanding ad-hoc requirements
  • Conduct training on system.
  • Creating solutions that effectively resolve user issues
  • Liaising with stakeholders (technical and non-technical) in the business to ascertain requirements and keeping them informed of progress and changes that may affect them.
  • Assisting with data extracts to provide information so that the Finance Department can discharge their responsibilities
  • Documentation: project/system documentation and general team documentation
  • Understanding internal client reporting requirements and developing reporting solutions
  • Manage and resolve queries and issues at all levels and escalating issues to Vendors for external support as required.
  • Assist with data initiatives including upgrades and maintenance.
  • Understand the flow of financial, client and matter information from other management information systems in the firm e.g. Matter Opening, in the context of data capture and collation for business development and marketing purposes and expense management system.
  • Ensure continuity through cutover preparation, planning and implementation with emphasis on resources planning, training development and delivery, as well as documentation of new processes
  • Not limited to existing platforms or solutions, there could exist integration opportunities to be explored and implemented for continual improvements with novel solutions, resulting in greater efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements

Experience Skills & Knowledge Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of Practice Management system, Expense and Invoice management system with a deep understanding of how they are used within a law firm environment
  • Candidate will be an existing systems analyst with experience of managing a team.
  • Proven track record supporting Aderant System and Chrome River is a plus
  • A good understanding of finance and accounting department needs within a legal environment
  • Knowledge of any programming languages would be advantageous.
  • Strong all-round IT skills including data manipulation and management, and sound knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS)
  • Experience of SQL Server management and T-SQL language, Reporting Services and Integration Services
  • IT literate and skilled with tools including Visio and MS Project
