RWE Supply & Trading (RWEST) is the interface between RWE and the energy markets around the world. Approximately 1,800 employees from over 70 different countries trade electricity, gas, commodities, and CO2 emission allowances.

Asia Pacific is one of the strategic growth areas of RWEST and in the past few years, RWEST\'s presence in Asia Pacific has rapidly expanded with subsidiaries in six countries (Singapore, Australia, China, Japan, India, and Indonesia).

This opportunity is ideal for a finance professional who is looking for a challenge in a dynamic global trading environment. The successful candidate will be able to develop their understanding of products, markets, and the end-to-end accounting and reporting cycle. The individual will work closely with various functions across Asia Pacific and Europe.

• Being responsible for accounting, expense controlling and payment processing
• Handle day-to-day tasks relating to the preparation of accounts and tax returns
• Reconcile and analyse financial results (balance sheet and P&L) and prepare commentary
• Prepare information for auditors and external tax consultants
• Ensure integrity of financials by reviewing control environment and documentation as well as performing balance sheet substantiation
• Support the team on regulatory and management reporting, tax reporting and compliance, banking and cash management, audits, and other ad-hoc management requests and project work

Your powerful skills

• Qualified accountant with degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration preferred
• 4 - 7 years of accounting experience under Singapore FRS and IFRS
• Experience from a commodity trading or financial services environment preferred
• Good communication and relationship management skills
• Good analytical skills
• Enthusiastic team player with interpersonal skills as well as intercultural competence
• Experience with using SAP preferred
• Basic knowledge of day-to-day direct as well as indirect tax topics and compliance necessary (e.g. withholding tax, GST, corporate income tax)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Fluent in English with additional Asian languages advantageous
