Job Description


This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone, who is highly organized, detail orientated and inquisitive, to play a key role in leading his/her financial forensics team in delivering forensic investigation, litigation support, and financial crime advisory. Our typical engagements include the following:

  • Investigations: undertaking complex investigations across a broad range of sectors both nationally and internationally, presenting information and evidence to entities and regulatory bodies;

  • Disputes: acting as party appointed expert, single joint expert or advisor in a host of litigation, international arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution procedures; and

  • Valuations: providing valuations for accounting, transactional, restructuring and dispute purposes for large and listed corporates, funds and asset managers and owner-managed businesses across multiple sectors.

As the financial forensics Manager/Assistant Manager, your role is pivotal to reviews findings from fraud risk identification exercises and fraud investigations and recommendations to improve prevention and detection of fraud schemes. He/she will be actively involved in the growth and development of the financial forensics and valuations team, including by participating in business development activities. He/she conducts fraud awareness and fraud prevention training for both internal and external parties.

The Financial Forensics Manager/Assistant Manager may manage the internal team or a team of forensic consultants who provide forensic services to external clients. He/she should be results-oriented in his/her work and is able to deliver reports and findings needed for different client groups. He/she is able to communicate with senior management and stakeholders on sensitive issues. He/she applies the principles of the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics in all his tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, plans, review findings for fraud risk identifications, gap analyses and investigation plans
  • Lead development of fraud risk management frameworks
  • Support the Director/Partner in developing forensic advisory practice
  • Preparing targeted financial analysis of data under the supervision of directors and partners
  • Undertaking in-depth document review
  • Assisting directors and partners with preparing quality written reports
  • Develop and review results for fraud risk assessments
  • Design, develop, draft, and conduct investigative interviews to gather data and information
  • Collect, review, and evaluate data and information to conduct root cause and/or diagnostic analyses and to collect evidence to support or refute allegations of fraudulent activities
  • Manage resources deployment of the team and to lead team in engagements
  • Oversee training in fraud awareness and fraud prevention to both internal and external parties and to conduct any workshops, training, and interviews in relevant areas
  • Keep up to date on all relevant laws such as AML and other regulatory issues and keep awareness of regulatory tools and emerging requirements and to provide timely advice on such changes and updates to the team and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare, present, and provide findings, evidence, and reports to stakeholders
  • Review and Advice on settlement and statements for litigation support
  • Liaise with law enforcement personnel and lawyers in performing investigations
  • Identify business development activities, develop proposal, and collaborate with colleagues and key stakeholders to generate business leads.
  • Any other related tasks and job scope as required
Requirements
  • Degree in relevant discipline or with professional certification
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant working experience in relevant capacity
  • Excellent knowledge in financial crime laws and regulations, forensic data analysis, fraud detection and prevention, investigation planning, etc
  • Excellent communication, presentation and report writing skills
  • Strong ability to analyse data/information thoroughly and apply a methodological approach
  • Experience of valuation methodologies and financial modelling, including Discounted Cash Flow analyses and market-based approaches
  • Independent, objective, and assertive, meticulous, proactive.
