About the Department


The Strategic Planning & Business Management team seeks to grow our bench strength and strengthen our support for GCD & collaboration with our business partners through effective performance management framework & methodologies and develop insights for accelerating business performance across all our GCD Channels. As a group wide resource, you will have responsibilities for strategic planning and balanced scorecard (BSC) management & administration as well as participation in key initiatives supporting Group Channels and Digitalisation leadership in enterprise-wide change management & strategic projects.

Job Responsibilities



You will engage key GCD & Business partner stakeholders to manage relationships, understand their business strategies & priorities and collaborate to design & develop key performance metrics as well as rules of engagement across traditional & digital channels aligned to business goals. You will constantly innovate to enhance & bring about greater transparency, simplicity & efficiency to the Group BSC process. In addition, you will also partner, collaborate & work across GCD & country teams to support & contribute towards the execution & delivery of strategic initiatives & projects for GCD as required.
  • Primarily responsible for GCD Balanced Scorecard Performance Management which includes supporting Group & Country Channels Heads in designing & developing KPIs & performance metrics for the branches and FinTech / Strategic Alliance teams to collaborate, support and deliver on the financial objectives for business partners/units.
  • Additionally, to support & actively participate in non-BAU activities and GCD key initiatives and change management projects to drive strategic transformation.
The jobholder will:
  • Lead & provide critical support function to the GCD leadership team on thought leadership relating to Balanced Scorecard (BSC) Framework design, KPI development/measurement & methodologies.
  • Build & manage key senior stakeholder relationships and act as a key partner for GCD to support business units / support functions in business target setting & related discussions to ensure business goal alignment and establish rules of engagement.
  • Partner with GCD Channels/Branches, Digital Engagement, FinTech/Strategic Alliance & Customer Experience teams to enhance the BSC framework aligned to Business strategies & priorities for both online & offline.
  • Actively participate in and support ad hoc BSC related process enhancements & reviews, change management / transformation projects, including strategic reviews, planning, management information (MI) from time to time
  • Lead & guide GCD teams in the development of their annual business workplans ensuring that clear business outcomes are established, aligned to group aspirations & tracked.
  • Undertake robust business performance analysis, back testing, scenario analysis and provide the necessary MI/data to facilitate effective decision making & reporting.
  • Exercise effective governance & accountability around BSC performance management to continuously assess & flag out risk as well as identify opportunities to close performance gaps.
  • Deliver strong & effective communication as well as collaborative engagements with senior stakeholders across BU functions, GCD & Country Channels teams.
  • Prepare group performance papers, analysis & business presentation decks to senior management for group planning, business review sessions and support GCD business strategy related & Start-of-Year events.


Job Requirements


  • A degree in Business & Finance/Business or related Degree preferred with at least 10 years of relevant Performance Management experience in the Financial Industry
  • Excellent English written / oral Communication and Presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinking, corporate mindedness & a holistic view of the business including The Bank\xe2\x80\x99s and Business Units\xe2\x80\x99 strategies and be able to draw meaningful linkages to execute effective performance management.
  • Firmness, objectivity & strong internal & business stakeholder management skills & engagement abilities.
  • A highly analytical mindset and able to study, rationalize & make sense of large amounts of complex performance data to tell a story.
  • Innovativeness & the ability to create & drive change & improvements in processes to increase work efficiency & productivity
  • Project management experience to actively participate in and support strategic and business transformation projects across traditional & digital channels / domains as required.
  • Ability to plan strategically, lead, negotiate, influence, handle conflict & achieve common/win-win outcomes.
  • Willingness to dive into granular performance details (i.e. get your hands dirty) as required.
  • Strong sense of commitment and be able to work well independently / team under tight timelines
  • Agility, good interpersonal, complex problem solving & influencing skills including the ability to work with ambiguity at times.
  • Self-motivated, with strong analytical skills & ability to perform in-depth analysis & impact evaluation
  • Strong Excel & PPT skills with the ability to build & prepare strategic business presentation decks.

  • Consulting background
  • Business strategy development &/or Performance Management experiences
  • Digital &/or FinTech knowledge
  • Experience working / across traditional & digital distribution channels with an understanding of how online & offline channels operate for efficiency, synergy and business outcomes.
